“A Plague Upon Our House” By Special White House Advisor Dr. Scott Atlas
White House Preoccupation with Testing, Contact Tracing, Masks, and Lockdowns Reveals Blindspot for Sick Americans with Acute COVID-19
By Peter A. McCullough, MD, MPH
I have had a chance to get to know Dr. Scott Atlas, former academic neuroradiologist and health policy scholar at the Hoover Institute, Stanford University. I have great respect for his intellectual honesty and courage challenging others inside the White House during his tenure as Special White House Coronavirus Advisor from July to December, 2020. However, I read his account of what happened titled “A Plague Upon Our House” with particular attention to what I saw in community medicine and with millions of Americans falling sick with COVID-19 during that time period. I was actively publishing on medical advancements alongside Atlas in The Hill and in peer-reviewed manuscripts. Here are two OPEDs within a month of each other—Atlas as well as the entire White House were oblivious to the important issue I raise—saving American lives with early treatment.
Among a long list of White House personnel and advisors including Trump, Pence, Kushner, Meadows, Mnuchin, Kudlow, Adams, Redfield, Birx, Fauci, Girar, McEntee, Miller, McEnany, and those called to Washington to meet with Atlas and Trump including Bhattacharya, Kuldorff, and Gupta, according to the 332 page narrative, none of them had a documented conversation, meeting, or briefing about how patients with acute COVID-19 were being treated to handle the problem at hand-- preventing hospitalization and death. None of them brought up the prospect of how early therapeutics would play a role settling down fear and resolving the crisis. None of the interventions (testing, contract tracing, social distancing, lockdowns, masking) that consumed large amounts of time and resources, helped sick patients in any meaningful way. A complete waisted effort.
The oblivion to treatment strategies was nothing short of spectacular. Atlas made no mention of the historic US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs special hearings on the results of early treatment protocols held on November 19, and December 8, 2020, chaired by Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI).
Senate Hearing on COVID-19 Outpatient Treatment, Medical professionals testified on COVID-19 outpatient treatment at a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing.
Neither he nor any of the task force members took any note of OPEDs published in The Hill on the need for early treatment or of the widely cited first iteration of The McCullough Protocol published in the American Journal of Medicine.
There was no mention of market entry and strategy for monoclonal antibodies in November, 2020. Absent from Atlas’s recollection, is consideration of inviting doctors to Washington and brief the president and task force on ambulatory therapeutic advancements. By December, 2020, Gkioulekas published we had clear and convincing evidence that early treatment was working to reduce hospitalization and death. Effective early therapeutic combinations to keep patients out of the hospital were the missing cornerstone to Atlas’s case for allaying fear and not locking down—letting the country get through the crisis with protections (including treatment) for those at high risk.
The insulated groupthink and perseveration on testing, contact tracing, masking, social distancing, and lockdowns appeared to be a fear-driven hypnotic trance that was the real plague that fell upon the White House. Everyone should read “A Plague Upon Our House” and then tackle “Courage to Face COVID-19: Preventing Hospitalization and Death While Battling the Biopharmaceutical Complex” by McCullough and Leake.
America needs to understand pandemic response from the real-world perspective of sick patients and caring physicians. It’s clear to me now, no volume of editorials or manuscripts could have broken the powerful mental contagion that captivated our leaders and misled the nation so terribly on pandemic response during 2020.

They ALL contributed to the horrid deaths of MILLIONS across the world - we all know it Dr. M - no whitewashing the truth and no other way to day it. EARLY TREATMENT was EVERYTHING. All of. my family who used the FLCCC protocol survived even Delta with it. How dare they deny every human being the right to try safe affordable drugs? I could not live with myself. In my opinion, the worst mistake of President Trumps presidency was his not keeping RFK in his administration. He alone would have had the tenacity to back Trump up when he spoke about HCQ and Ivermectin. What happened? Why did that change? So many people would be here today.
Thanks as always Dr. McCullough. I watched interviews with Atlas and Bhattacharya with Jan Jekielek on Epoch TV early on. Both advocated shots for the elderly to which I responded “Hey! Not me you guys!”
I found the interviews deficient in this respect. I was prompted to write to Jan immediately urging him to interview all the doctors who advocate the early interventions ... you know the list and your name is at the top!
And he did! I’m just a citizen ... but I will guess he got a lot of similar emails. It was exciting when interviews with yourself, Cole, Kory, Alexander, Malone, Urso...I don’t want to leave anybody out ... were announced. Needless to say Bobby Kennedy was way ahead of Epoch Times but it was nevertheless important to expand the coverage to the growing ET platform.
Zelenko was a another favorite of mine as a source that told me decisively “there is nothing to worry about from the virus.” He said “You have to be insane to take these injections.” I grieve that he passed so young.
Indeed I had the SARS-2 infection at age 70 ... it was no big deal. The flu infection I caught from flu-vaccinated office mate 20 years earlier was MUCH worse.
Some folks had SARS flu worse than I did. Why that would be has been answered in a significant part by Dr. Sabine Hazan whose discourse on the microbiome addresses as well the reactions to the shots, especially the deadly reactions.
The Hullabaloo when you interviewed with Rogan was stultifying. He did a great job ... as you did. It was cool to see an eminent doctor having a critically valuable conversation with this guy covered with tattoos. I thank Rogan and Spotify for this public service.
Too bad all the 60’s music celebrities were so brainwashed. No need to go into it.
Stay well Dr. McCullough! Major reforms are coming with a new administration.
Scott Atlas left as us a memorable quote: “credentials are no longer enough!” This means we must take responsibility and manage risk with our own literacy and judgement.
There will be a surge in demand for alternative treatments with an emphasis on health rather than sickness. This will mean ROA agriculture, less pollution, stress reduction and love of the natural world of which we are a part.
Vaccines are pollution. All of them. Unacceptable. Why? Because they destroy the gut flora, the very foundation of health. They cannot be discussed neglecting this critical fact. There IS a better way.,
Heath and medical practice must protect the human brain at all cost from conception onward and employ the science and practice of immune fitness.
