Interview with Frank Gaffney
Former Assistant Secretary of Defense issues an Indictment of the CCP and its American fellow travelers.
Back in 1996, while living in Vienna, I got to be pals with an old man named Alexander von Üxküll, who was a first cousin of Claus von Stauffenberg. Alexander’s father, Nikolaus, was also part of the July 1944 plot to assassinate Hitler. In my conversations with Alexander, he often remarked that, most of the time, politicians and the people they govern are slow to recognize true threats to their national security. On a few occasions he emphasized that we Americans are gravely underestimating the adversarial nature of the Chinese Communist Party. He reckoned that, because American businessmen were enthusiastic about doing lucrative deals with Chinese companies, they would be slow to recognize the danger that China (ruled by the CCP) posed to the American way of life.
At the time I thought he was being a bit cranky. But then, in 2003, I read a fascinating report about President Bush’s younger brother, Neil Bush, doing big deals with Chinese companies and romping around with Hong Kong honey traps.
Since then, I’ve been aware that Chinese businessmen have (with the support and blessing of the Chinese Communist Party) succeeded in capturing influential Americans by tempting them with money, status, and sex. However, it was only with the revelation that SARS-CoV-2 was created in a Wuhan lab with mostly American biotechnology that I realized just how dangerous this relationship has become.
This afternoon I had a long conversation about the CCP with Frank Gaffney, who served as Assistant Secretary of Defense in the Reagan Administration. Frank is also the founder and executive chairman of the Center for Security Policy.
He is just out with a new book titled THE INDICTMENT: Prosecuting the Chinese Communists Party & Friends for Crimes Against America, China, and the World.
I hope you enjoy my conversation with this great defender of the U.S. Constitution and the American way of life.
One of the few men in our country who truly understands the danger of the CCP. Victor Davis Hanson is another.
