Lurching From One Crisis to the Next
Reflections on the general state of affairs at the end of 2022.

In this conversation recorded for Pulse on the America Out Loud network, Dr. McCullough and I have a wide-ranging discussion about the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex and its close relationship with what President Eisenhower called the Military-Industrial Complex.
In his Farewell Address, President Eisenhower warned:
We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes.
Have you noticed that we always seem to be lurching from one crisis to the next? Is the world really such a hazardous place? Or could it be that the power complexes who run our world now have a perverse incentive to welcome each new crisis because each presents an opportunity for further enriching the key players and institutions in these complexes?
Rise up people, and know your own natural capacities for robust health and joyful living! We have within us much more than we realize to live productive and meaningful lives, unencumbered by greedy, manipulative, dangerous entities like Big Pharma wanting us to think that only they have what we need. Let’s toast to self-empowerment, self-acceptance and love, courage, friends, and faith in our amazing natural immune system. These make what life’s about.
Yes, Eisenhower spoke directly about the dangers of federal funding and of a scientific & technological elite dominating public policy.
“Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.”
