When the authorities don't investigate suspicious deaths

My second book, Cold a Long Time: An Alpine Mystery, was about a young Canadian hockey player named Duncan MacPherson who disappeared in the Austrian Alps near Innsbruck. When his body turned up 14 years later, the local authorities were strangely reluctant to INVESTIGATE his death. As soon as his body was found, they offered an explanation for it—which contradicted their explanation for his disappearance—and they showed no interest in examining the matter. No investigation was pursued and no autopsy was performed (at least not officially). At the time I researched it, it was by far the strangest story I’d ever encountered. The book trailer video, narrated by the late Bill Paxton, gives some sense of its mystery.

Soon after I started looking into the story, I realized that the reluctance of authorities to investigate a suspicious death is itself a fairly reliable indicator that someone in a position of power and influence wants to conceal the reality. In short, the authorities don’t look into it because the people from whom they take orders are afraid of what they will find.

In the case of Duncan MacPherson, the residents of the local community understood that the authorities did not wish to investigate his disappearance—and later his confirmed death—so they too concluded that turning a blind eye was the better policy. Even curious people who sensed that something was amiss concluded it was best to stay out of it. Curiosity killed the cat. I’ll never forget the time I had a secret meeting with an informant whose wife could barely restrain her fury that her husband had agreed to talk with me.

The trouble with silence about the suspicious deaths of young people is that no society can tolerate it for long. As Shakespeare put it in The Merchant of Venice.

… truth will come
to light; murder cannot be hid long; a man's son
may, but at the length truth will out. 

I thought of this yesterday when I saw a new, short documentary titled “Until Proven Otherwise.” The 4-MINUTE VIDEO IS A MUST WATCH FOR EVERYONE. It shows how Dr. Peter McCullough and the British cardiologist, Dr. Aseem Malhotra, independently arrived at the same conclusion—namely, the totality of circumstances indicates that the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines are responsible for the sudden cardiac arrests and deaths of an alarming number of young people. As McCullough and Malhotra put it, vaccine-induced myocarditis should be regarded as the cause of their deaths “until proven otherwise.”

The public should note that, while our mainstream medical establishment has branded Drs. McCullough and Malhotra as “dangerous spreaders of misinformation,” this same Establishment is apparently doing nothing to answer the question: If not the experimental mRNA vaccines introduced in 2021, then what is killing young people?

The question is all the more urgent given multiple documented cases of temporal proximity of acute myocarditis and receiving the injections, and the conspicuous fact that even our health agencies have acknowledged the elevated risk of myocarditis after COVID-19 vaccination, especially in young males.

As I noted in My Friends are Dying of Heart Attacks, today’s medical examiners have the training and equipment to analyze these deaths and to collate their findings into a meta-analysis. However, as far as I know, they aren’t doing it. If autopsies are performed, it seems that pathologists note the signs of cardiovascular disease without trying to determine why this disease process was so advanced in an otherwise fit young person who died 25-50 years before reaching life expectancy.

When young athletes suddenly drop dead on the playing field, the media reports these incidents as though they are mysteries, and there are no calls from public officials to investigate them and to publish the findings.

Why aren’t these deaths being investigated?
