"Stand Courageously For What You Believe In"

Joe Rogan & Aaron Rodgers discuss principles, peer pressure, and Dr. Peter McCullough

Tyrants have always flourished during times of turmoil, when people are frightened and crave security. Likewise, those who wield state power have always invoked emergencies in order to extend their power at the expense of constitutionally-protected liberties.

When fear is in the air and people are blitzed with propaganda, it has always been a small minority of men and women who retain their reason and discernment and see through the lies.

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is just such a man. In the face of constant peer pressure, ostracism, and vilification for refusing the COVID-19 gene transfer shot, he remained true to his principles. Like his fellow athlete, Novak Djokovic, he also remained at the top of his game during the period in which he was characterized as posing a health risk to himself and to his fellow athletes.

Instead of letting all of the badgering and heckling and ceaseless BS get them down, Rodgers and Djokovic continued dominating their sports. Djokovic remained number one, and Rodgers was voted Most Valuable Player in the NFL by the Associated Press in 2020 and 2021.

Joe Rogan is another extraordinary example of an individual who has refused to bow to pressure from the great lords of this world. Enormous pressure was exerted on him to abort his already recorded interview with Dr. Peter McCullough in 2021, but he stuck to his guns and posted the interview on Spotify as promised.

Yesterday, February 7, 2024, Aaron Rodgers was a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience. The two men spoke at length about the insanity of the last four years and how they managed to resist it. Rodgers eloquently went to the heart of the matter:

In the end, you make a decision. You stand for something. You stand courageously for what you believe in. Or, the opposite side of that is, you say nothing and be a coward, and I wasn’t willing to do that. Now, say whatever you want about the way I went about doing it, in the end, I made a decision that was best for me, and I’m going to continue talking about this stuff because it’s important to me, and I don’t want the memories to be lost. I don’t want what I went through to get brushed over. … I have a platform. Some people just want you to shut up and throw a football, and that’s fine. But I think there has to be certain voices of reason. … I think it’s an important responsibility for me to speak up and use my voice … regardless of what kind of crosshairs that puts on me with certain media members.

This is precisely the kind of bold and principled stand that we wished to highlight and celebrate when we started the Courageous Discourse Substack. Guys like Aaron Rodgers and Joe Rogan are our greatest hope for pushing back against the forces of tyranny, censorship, fear, and unreason.

An especially gratifying moment in their conversation was when Joe Rogan said:

Well, if you know Peter McCullough, Peter McCullough is like, that guy has standards and morals and ethics. I mean he is a rock-solid dude. Rock solid guy.

Thank you, Mr. Rogan, for saying this. We salute you and Mr. Rodgers for your courageous defense of free speech and remaining strong voices of reason in a time of fear, folly, and craven conformity.
