The state of medical affairs is likely to worsen if left alone. Medical students and residents have been trained on the principle of “NOT overtaxing the doctor” for the last couple of decades. They have largely become 9-5 technicians.
And physicians are being replaced with PAs at medical centers. Physicians sold their private practices to the medical centers in the 1980s and became employees rather than independent contractors. The medical centers were captured by big Pharma. That also brought physicians under the umbrella. Now that physicians are captured, medical centers don’t need them and PAs can read “evidenced based protocol” and treat patients. Who determines evidence based evidence? Bought and paid for physicians.
This is indeed a travesty. Low 25-hydroxyvitamin D is easily corrected and is the most important cause of poor innate and adaptive immune responses and of the dysregulated inflammatory responses which kill most COVID-19 patients, and cause sepsis, Kawasaki disease, MIS-C etc.
The immune system can only work properly with 50 ng/mL 125 nmol/L (1 part in 20,000,000 by mass) or more circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D. This is 2 to 10 times what most people have, unless they have been properly supplementing vitamin D3 or have, in the last month or two, had a lot of UV-B exposure on ideally white skin.
This means that most people, in most countries - especially far from the equator and especially those there with dark or black skin and/or sun-avoidant lifestyles - have crippled immune systems all year round.
If everyone had 50 ng/mL circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D, there would be a great reduction in infectious disease transmission and severity, reduction in auto-immune disorders and a general improvement in physical and mental health.
SARS-CoV-2 would never have spread in pandemic fashion, so there would have been no COVID-19 pandemic. Disease severity for those infected would have been greatly reduced and so would the average number of viruses shed. So transmission would be far less - below that required for R0 of 1.0 or more which causes a pandemic. The escaped virus might still have lingered somewhere, but the few people it infected would rarely suffer severe symptoms of death.

Totally agree with your conclusions. These medical journals have been sliding into propaganda pieces since the introduction of public advertising of prescription drugs. Still only 2 countries permit that I think - the US and NZ. Horrible to say but docs will write an Rx for a product patients ask for most of the time unless they believe it would do harm. Why? Patients will doctor shop until they find one who will Rx it. Put docs in the position of being the bad guy. Billions upon billions spent on slanted advertising that the FDA does not police. I had my annual in 2022 and asked the doc for an antibody test. She refused however she offered me a Covid Vax shot, a shingles shot, a pneumonia shot a flu shot and itch cream script. My answer was no, no, no, no, no. That was all she had to offer me. I am done with prescription products that are not needed to save my life as my trust of big pharma is at an all time low, I am not taking any vaccinations and I refuse to support them.
How in the world will we ever get physicians to take off their biased blinders when they only read this journal's tripe? And it damaged the profession of medicine by colluding with pharma and government to make the doctor's freedom as a practitioner conditional on following guidelines. By doing this the ACP has also undermined the doctor-patient relationship, which should be sacrosanct.

I'm not a pill person - I know nothing about drugs, nor vitamins, nor any other supplements.
