I live in Amarillo. My neighbors and I all know that the wildfires were very suspicious! (The electric company took the fall but that just stops investigations.) And the killing of the cattle and the chickens too. I wrote 2 stacks about the fires....
Even without suspicious activity, based on statistics alone, the first response should be to suspect arson. Reliable estimates all say that over 80% of all wildfires are caused by human activity, e.g.: https://www.science.org/content/article/human-sparked-wildfires-are-more-destructive-those-caused-nature. But of course, climate change could have made these humans lose their head, so that they started to drop burning matches randomly.
Did you read the recent article about Lahaina and they blamed it on electric also? 🙄 However, we also just got a rate increase notice due to the cost of replacing electric poles burned in fires. They don't have insurance for that?! How is THAT our responsibility?! I suspect they took money from under the table to take responsibility along with taking money from us! They'll absolutely BANK from those fires! What company would take responsibility without a lawsuit?! There was litterally ZERO way to 100% prove electric lines caused those fires!

As a cattle owner, I am horrified. The terror an pain they endured is incomprehensible.
We need to move away from factory farming and back to small, independent farms. Fires happen.
But if you only have 100 cows at one location, then a limited number can be killed by any one incident.

Last year there were a large number of fires in Canada and they were all set by environmentalists. My guess is the one here was arson, as well.
