Back in 2010 he was one of the co-authors on a study published in NIH that demonstrated zinc transported to the nasal area would stop the replication of respiratory viruses (colds, flus, etc.) in vitro ("test tube"). Baric was not the lead author and I speculate his name was added to the research to get funding. So in other words he was involved with a cure or treatment for covid published back in 2010. However, to my knowledge that research never went any further than laboratory testing. Later, seemingly having 'forgotten' about the super-inexpensive zinc cure/treatment, Baric was heavily involved with the introduction and use of Remdesivir (sp?) as a highly expensive covid hospital treatment - to the extreme detriment of patients (it was a killer). I believe Baric was highly rewarded financially for this. The late Dr. Vladimir Zelenko discovered the value of zinc to counter covid and put it into practical use for his patients with great success using quercetin or Ivermectin as the necessary transport substance.
Dr. Zelenko's original protocol was the use of hydroxychloroquine/zinc/azithromycin. When Cuomo made it impossible for his patients to get their hands on HCQ, he switched to quercetin, another zinc ionophore. Later, when ivermectin proved to be effective at multiple phases of the infection, he incorporated it into his protocol.
