If the larger society is so stupid as to allow such corruption, they might as well take advantage of it. If not them, someone else would. Standing for truth, justice, and doing right by your fellow citizens is highly unusual. How many like Ron Johnson are in the Senate or House? Or Andrew Bridgen in parliament? They're swamped by a sea of greedy, soulless POS's. Paradoxically, these observations have given me a bit of peace as I see us self-destruct. We aren't a species worth saving, and never were.
