I appreciate the information in this interview, but I don’t agree that a child has a psychiatric disorder just because they’ve trusted the information their counselors and other teachers have given them about possibly having a better experience as the other gender. I believe it’s normal to be unsure about how the world works and one’s place in the world as a child, and also normal to be open to learning from the adults in your life as a child. I heard one 18 year old describe that she decided to transgender to a boy starting at age 12 because she was afraid of sexual assault. Someone put the idea into her head that sexual assault was likely to happen and that transitioning was a viable way to avoid that horrible experience. She’s now trying to undo the transitioning she did, and she and her Dad are suing the MDs for lack of informing her of the consequences of the operations as well as for lying to her Dad that he needed to go along with her choices or she would be likely to commit suicide. They are not the ones with the psychiatric disorder. It’s the teachers and the MDs who are advocating for the operations who have the psychiatric disorder. Please consider that many if not most of us fall for lies at various points in our lives, and please don’t add insult to the injuries the victims of this indoctrination campaign are suffering. For example, many people believe that childhood vaccines are safe and important, due to indoctrination. Do they also have a psychiatric disorder? No, they’ve just been duped by the indoctrination. Another issue with labeling the children as having a psychiatric disorder is that it lets the parents off the hook if they are in agreement with or promoting the path the children are on. Many younger parents have also been indoctrinated to believe that it’s perfectly fine for young teens to choose to transgender. That’s a false belief, but they were also trusting when they fell for the indoctrination. We can turn this boat around without adding the inaccurate labeling of psychiatric disorder.
