"Gain of Function" needs to be renamed as the more nefarious acting on a plan it really is. Perhaps a term like "Gain of Danger" might be a good fit as it more accurately describes what it really is. And therefore the correct label could even help reduce the amount of this hijacking of science for wrong purposes, as the public would be more angered by it and not accept it taking place as easily as they do.
It might even shake up the scientists engaging in this Gain of Danger it if they possess even a very little moral conscience. Words and labels do matter when it comes to peoples understanding and interpretation.
“Gain of Function” was a clever use of words to make it sound like they are doing something beneficial for us in these bio-labs. Without it they would have a much harder time getting acceptance for the research to create these new deadly viruses as bio-weapons. It has been a successful operation on us, but we should not allow them to continue to succeed on much of the population with this word play and trickery of theirs.
We need to take back control and properly describe what it is that is being done – “Gain of Danger” – or any other better term we can come up with that correctly describes the creation of deadly pathogens.
