Tylenol is the leading cause of liver failure in the US, I believe. But I don't have a citation for that either so, something to look into if people are interested. Tylenol aka. acetominophen or paracetamol is a cause of liver enzyme failure after over dose. It very rarely causes liver problems if taken as prescribed. Depending on the person eg contraindicated in Wilson's disease. The cure for this is NAC (N-acetyl cysteine) I always advise people who take tylenol regularly to take NAC as well. I am not aware of tylenol being used in conjunction with any vaccines and besides tylenol does not "open" the BBB.
Every time I brought my children in for vaccinations (which I now regret every single one), I was told to give my child Tylenol 20 minutes before they got the injection. This was to help reduce pain and fever. And I always walked away with a sheet of paper about Tylenol after having it recommended by the person doing the injections for pain and fever afterwards. This scenario played out in multiple settings from different administrators.

FDA had called for the limitation of dosage in acetaminophen (Tylenol) tablets from 500 mg extra-strength down to 325 mg years ago because of frequent overdosing because so many products contain it. A person with a cold might take two 500mg tablets for a fever plus a sinus remedy that also contains it, resulting in a cumulative overdose.

I'm awfully sure that this is true . It hurts on a visceral level to admit this after 52 years as an RN. I resisted this knowledge for many years while friends told me about their kids "becoming autistic". Then i watched as it happened to my own grandson.
Those of us over 50 know that autism was virtually unheard of in our childhood. Something changed. In a moral universe there would be a concerted and honest attempt to determine what the “something” was. I was in contact with some autistic kids when I was a lifeguard in the early 1970s. They had come for a private session at our pool as a group with lots of supervisors attending to them, very dangerous to just let them wander into the pool area on their own. Most kids wore helmets as apparently they often managed to bang their head against walls and floors, not able to tell the difference between themselves and the world around them. I was told then that nearly all genuinely autistic kids would be dead by the time they were 20 years old, accumulated self administered damage. 1 in 10,000..., that was bad enough.
Of course, now there are a range of behaviors that are classified as "autistic". I kind of wish there were another classification for behaviors that are mildly autistic in nature, somewhat uncentered behavior. Many of these milder behaviors can be modified over time to the point where these young people can be as functional as anybody else. I have seen this first hand. This is especially true once young people with this milder behavioral issues remove themselves from their original homes and develop their own lives. Why? I'm not sure. I suspect there are a host of factors in play - diet, emotional trauma, environmental toxins, vaccines, etc. But once on their own power I've seen some odd functioning young people turn themselves around and remain focused outside of themselves, becoming fully functional responsible adults.
They used to call mild autism aspberger syndrome. Aspies are high functioning but have some similar traits that they can usually compensate for. I believe my eldest son fits in that category, but I never got him diagnosed. I homeschooling him so we could compensate. Now he is in college as a straight A honors student.
His biggest symptom is hyper literalness. His brain thinks like a computer and he can't understand figures of speech. You have to be careful what you tell him to do because he will do exactly what you literally tell him to do with no context taken into account. He also has no idea what you mean if you use bad grammar. Luckily he is planning to be a computer programmer. What is normally a liability is an asset with his career choice.
I've always wondered if the 2 vaxes I allowed him to take, dTaP at 1 year and 2-3 yo caused this. The only fevers he had in his first 5 years of life were after each jab.

As Paula mentioned, it is hard pinpoint any single cause for Asperger’s Syndrome. We can only do the best we can with the knowledge we have at the moment. It certainly seems that you have done the best job possible and that your son is now a fully contributing member of society. Whether his behavior traits morph over time is hard to say.
My observation among those I know with Asperger’s is that in general there is some changes that develop over time, particularly interactions with others. The literalness of interpretation can sometimes become less obvious. Understanding humor when it is presented as humor can at times elicit a smile of recognition. One fellow I deal with frequently even managed to tell a joke himself, was actually pretty good joke at that.
The goal, as you know, is to love people as they are, not as you wish them to be. Reaching for that human connection does a lot to help your loved one be at ease. Being at ease allows a possibility for changes to develop if any changes are to develop at all. Either way, it sounds like your son has a special gift that he brings to the world.
I wonder why the developmental pediatric group that diagnoses and "treats" autism is not closely studying the kids who "recover" from autism. Ive watched my grandson develope normally from birth to 18 months ; regress into autism and now after 15 years of therapy, diet changes, and support becomes the bright, engaged human who takes AP classes , all A s , marches in the drum line, acts in plays. Why aren't the pros asking " how did you DO that" ?
The Europeans spend much less than half, per capita, on medical diagnostics than what is spent in the US. Health outcomes in the US are no better, never have been. In 2010 I purchased the book GUT AND PSYCHOLOGY SYNDROME: Natural Treatment for Dyspraxia Autism ADD ADHD Depression and Schizophrenia by Natasha Campbell-McBride MD MMedSci. I was trying to find some relief for family members- it took a lot of digging to even find this book which was first published in 2004. Not an easy read, but I was roundly discounted and discouraged by the doctors that this was some kind of quackery- the book is largely a nutrition based guide and how food can help reorder the microbiome in the gut. It seemed so simple - but based on our SAD diet in the US very difficult to implement at the time. But us laypeople just get kept getting gaslit.

My grandson's have a lot of food allergies and other stuff as well as emotional problems. Changing peoples' diets is really really hard and not even a Mom can do this alone...
So this was 14 years ago - my kids are grown (no grandkids yet). The best I was able to do was to feed my kids healthy, home cooked meals using whole foods - early on I stopped buying anything with corn syrup, learned how to can vegetables and batch cook and freeze my own sauces, etc. With creative budgeting, sacrifice, and the support of my husband, I was able to stay home with our kids. I joined an organic farm share and helped pack vegetables for a discount on the produce. My kids still ate dairy queen, cake, pizza, an occasional soda, candy at all the holidays and fast food - I just did the best I could. I would say until things change in the food industry and opinions of the masses force supply and demand, it's still a losing battle. Knowing what I know now about the deleterious effects of sugar and all the crap in most "regular" grocery store food, I would have done things so differently. Education is the best defense, if people have eyes enough to see and ears enough to listen.

And, Tylenol doesn't even work. (Except to cause various sorts of damage.) But be cautious with immunosuppressive Aspirin.

I'm awfully sure that this is true . It hurts on a visceral level to admit this after 52 years as an RN. I resisted this knowledge for many years while friends told me about their kids "becoming autistic". Then i watched as it happened to my own grandson.

The "Reagan Revolution" marked the beginning of a decline in political responsibility, a decline that had already started long before Reagan's presidency but had become easily discernable from his time forward.
I was in contact with some autistic kids when I was a lifeguard in the early 1970s. They had come for a private session at our pool as a group with lots of supervisors attending to them, very dangerous to just let them wander into the pool area on their own. Most kids wore helmets as apparently they often managed to bang their head against walls and floors, not able to tell the difference between themselves and the world around them. I was told then that nearly all genuinely autistic kids would be dead by the time they were 20 years old, accumulated self administered damage. 1 in 10,000..., that was bad enough.
Of course, now there are a range of behaviors that are classified as "autistic". I kind of wish there were another classification for behaviors that are mildly autistic in nature, somewhat uncentered behavior. Many of these milder behaviors can be modified over time to the point where these young people can be as functional as anybody else. I have seen this first hand. This is especially true once young people with this milder behavioral issues remove themselves from their original homes and develop their own lives. Why? I'm not sure. I suspect there are a host of factors in play - diet, emotional trauma, environmental toxins, vaccines, etc. But once on their own power I've seen some odd functioning young people turn themselves around and remain focused outside of themselves, becoming fully functional responsible adults.
They used to call mild autism aspberger syndrome. Aspies are high functioning but have some similar traits that they can usually compensate for. I believe my eldest son fits in that category, but I never got him diagnosed. I homeschooling him so we could compensate. Now he is in college as a straight A honors student.
His biggest symptom is hyper literalness. His brain thinks like a computer and he can't understand figures of speech. You have to be careful what you tell him to do because he will do exactly what you literally tell him to do with no context taken into account. He also has no idea what you mean if you use bad grammar. Luckily he is planning to be a computer programmer. What is normally a liability is an asset with his career choice.
I've always wondered if the 2 vaxes I allowed him to take, dTaP at 1 year and 2-3 yo caused this. The only fevers he had in his first 5 years of life were after each jab.
I hope you do not blame yourself. Maybe it was the vaccines and maybe not. But certainly our medical care system has been and continues to fail us all. It is beyond wonderful that you home schooled him and helped him excel to this point. Good on you!

As Paula mentioned, it is hard pinpoint any single cause for Asperger’s Syndrome. We can only do the best we can with the knowledge we have at the moment. It certainly seems that you have done the best job possible and that your son is now a fully contributing member of society. Whether his behavior traits morph over time is hard to say.
My observation among those I know with Asperger’s is that in general there is some changes that develop over time, particularly interactions with others. The literalness of interpretation can sometimes become less obvious. Understanding humor when it is presented as humor can at times elicit a smile of recognition. One fellow I deal with frequently even managed to tell a joke himself, was actually pretty good joke at that.
The goal, as you know, is to love people as they are, not as you wish them to be. Reaching for that human connection does a lot to help your loved one be at ease. Being at ease allows a possibility for changes to develop if any changes are to develop at all. Either way, it sounds like your son has a special gift that he brings to the world.
He is a truly wonderful, brilliant, loving person. Luckily he has embraced his differences and takes, "You're weird" as the highest compliment.

I wonder why the developmental pediatric group that diagnoses and "treats" autism is not closely studying the kids who "recover" from autism. Ive watched my grandson develope normally from birth to 18 months ; regress into autism and now after 15 years of therapy, diet changes, and support becomes the bright, engaged human who takes AP classes , all A s , marches in the drum line, acts in plays. Why aren't the pros asking " how did you DO that" ?

Is it not tragic that it took over a quarter of a century to do this work, and remember that Wakefield's great sin was not to assert anything - he never did. All he did was call for futher research to investigate. And, for that, he was burned at the proverbial stake.

Dr Wakefield wanted the medical establishment to stop using a combination of vaccines .. together but separately to lower the aluminium mercury loading… and to particularly avoid giving these to babies still forming neurons.. once they are formed .. neurons can withstand the adjuvants .. but no one understood … and hung him out to dry on the whims of big pharma… it is the pharmaceuticals that need reigning in.. they should not have any sway over doctors speaking out concerns especially about the harms these interventions cause.

Most days I'm angry enough to spit nails. In 2010 I purchased the book GUT AND PSYCHOLOGY SYNDROME: Natural Treatment for Dyspraxia Autism ADD ADHD Depression and Schizophrenia by Natasha Campbell-McBride MD MMedSci. I was trying to find some relief for family members- it took a lot of digging to even find this book which was first published in 2004. Not an easy read, but I was roundly discounted and discouraged by the doctors that this was some kind of quackery- the book is largely a nutrition based guide and how food can help reorder the microbiome in the gut. It seemed so simple - but based on our SAD diet in the US very difficult to implement at the time. But us laypeople just get kept getting gaslit.
Don't get mad....Get even. Take your health into your own hands. Food -- even good food-- is still cheaper than getting on the BIG HARMA merry-go-round.

My grandson's have a lot of food allergies and other stuff as well as emotional problems. Changing peoples' diets is really really hard and not even a Mom can do this alone...
So this was 14 years ago - my kids are grown (no grandkids yet). The best I was able to do was to feed my kids healthy, home cooked meals using whole foods - early on I stopped buying anything with corn syrup, learned how to can vegetables and batch cook and freeze my own sauces, etc. With creative budgeting, sacrifice, and the support of my husband, I was able to stay home with our kids. I joined an organic farm share and helped pack vegetables for a discount on the produce. My kids still ate dairy queen, cake, pizza, an occasional soda, candy at all the holidays and fast food - I just did the best I could. I would say until things change in the food industry and opinions of the masses force supply and demand, it's still a losing battle. Knowing what I know now about the deleterious effects of sugar and all the crap in most "regular" grocery store food, I would have done things so differently. Education is the best defense, if people have eyes enough to see and ears enough to listen.
Since they also continue to deny the correlation between vaccines & babies dying soon after their "wellness visits" (oftentimes dying the same day), why not also deny the correlation between all of the childhood vaccines & the rising incidence of autism? Denial seems to be the name of the game.

I wonder will there be a slew of papers opposing this one. Will there be censorship? Will Andrew Wakefield be publicly vindicated? If not, why not? What deviation from the average diet are parents guilty of that could possibly be the cause of their child's autism? If we are considering environmental factors such as glyphosate, pollution, plastics, infant formula, medications taken during pregnancy, maternal diet during pregnancy, medications affecting breast milk, etc....why are vaccines not on the list? Is it the same reason that covid shot harms were hidden, it would cause vaccination hesitancy? I imagine Andrew Wakefield would not wish to return to his medical profession, but in the matter of justice, his license should be immediately reinstated, a symbolic gesture that would not make up for all he has lost. I heard him speak a couple of years ago, and he said his trials are minor by comparison to the lives lost to autism, and the families affected by the condition. I think it is the greatest tragedy of our time, and to downplay the potential and real harms of the childhood vaccine schedule is one of the greatest evils of our time. Injured children are essentially 'buried alive,' powerless to help themselves, and it seems most adults above ground are deaf to their cries.
You should realise that Dr Wakefield became an accomplished film maker .. watch VAXXED and VAXXED 11 then “The 1986 ACT” and finally his latest movie “Protocol 7” anyone who watches just one of these films then still believes the press and their governments must be missing half a brain… this Doctor is one hell of a hero.
I met and spoke with him when he showed a clip of 'The 1986 Act' movie two years ago. I meant he should have his medical license reinstated because he did nothing wrong.
