Give me one example of a species that evolved to another species. Canines stay within canines. Felines stay within felines. Also, how do you explain the Cambrian Explosion? The fossil records show a massive sudden appearance of complex animals. If evolution were true, all the lower layers should show a magnitude of numbers of gradually evolving fossils leading up to the explosion, correct?
theres tons of them...there was a baby horse(Eohippus) that evolved into big , mod horses, Whales used to be land crawlers so they actually have vestigial hand bones in their flippers, all birds are descended from dinosaurs. Humans are probably the best example: we have the blood markers of earlier phenotypes- habilis, erectus, neanderthal, & cro-mag (although we are not one "race" like Libtards claim so the reductionistic Left can often be as religious as the Right)
"Early trilobites show all the features of the trilobite group as a whole; there do not seem to be any transitional or ancestral forms showing or combining the features of trilobites with other groups (e.g. early arthropods)."
Strange, no? If evolution were true, there should be so many, many more fossils of all the species preceding a trilobite, all with varying degrees of development or failed mutations.
Instead, we just have fossils of fully formed trilobites just appearing.
Great article. Reminds me of that "Rat Utopia" experiment where they made sure NOTHING would stress the rats, which also means zero challenges were present. There was plenty of healthy food constantly available at all times, never any overcrowding or competition, lots of fun little things to do and safe things to explore, etc.
The rats were extinct, (incapable of reproducing) after only 2 generations.
I'm no expert on the matter, but what I've read about hunter-gatherers is that they had to work very little for their sustenance, and yet didn't have these drama issues. Both problems came with what Daniel Quinn called "totalitarian agriculture".
You'd think that with all the dramas our shadowing overlords keep inflicting on us, people wouldn't have the time or energy to intentionally create dramas out of thin air in their own lives. But alas,....
What a lovely piece, thanks John. I never want to be handed an enormous amount of wealth as I think it would drive me to boredom and depression. Having goals is hugely important. Wealth accumulation can loosen our moorings to those goals. I tend to think wealthy people who have a real belief in God don't as readily lose themselves in wealth.
Interesting that one of the few people who is trying to fight Google (and by extension other social media) considers himself a Democrat or liberal. We desperately need to unite people into a single group to fight oncoming totalitarian plans
Disagree... People can learn to act on their inspiration and imagination can be cultivated to create beauty ingenious technologies, exciting experiences, challenge ourselves, write songs learn new skills instruments languages... your negativity is probably true for you but not for everyone. I am working with a bunch of creative people who honor our creative spirit and realize the huge amount of work it is to create a more peaceful abundant and healed world...SANS DRAMA!!
I see no conflict between creation and evolution. Life is change and adaptation to circumstances. Everything said in the original post refers to change as response to challenge, and that an unchallenged life leads to the dreaded and self-destructive drama seeking and engineered outrage as distractions from boredom.
There is an HUGE difference, actually, between being a "cosmic accident", and an intentional creation with a purpose for existing. Think about it that way
Didn't say I denied evolution. In fact, I thought I gave general support of same, without opting to cross swords with a creationist, which would, in my opinion, have muddied the waters and distracted from the main point of the original post.
I see nothing contradictory between evolution and believing in God. In a vast universe replete with "black holes" quantum theory, and possibly endless dimensions why is it difficult to imagine something greater than humanity?
Quite the contrary! It takes far more blind faith to believe in evolution, than Intelligent design and creation. even Darwin finally acknowledged he'd got it wrong with his THEORY of evolution!
"Lady Hope's story was long used by creationists arguing against Darwin's theories as evidence that they were wrong. But over time, even creationist websites have come to acknowledge the inherent weakness of the argument. In fact, several of the sources we used in researching this article were from creationist websites sharing the story but cautioning readers against employing it in an argument."
I wasn't talking about Lady Hope or some story, my background is medical science, and Biblical Christianity, which, contrary to popular opinion, are not in opposition to each other, as evolution is. Evolution is humanity's way of trying to deny Yhwh, and Intelligent design, but when scripture tells me humans are fearfully and wonderfully made, and my studies of human anatomy and physiology confirm that in detail, and my experience in the military with explosions show me only chaos and destruction as their result, I can but reject evolution as an absurdity.
TRUTH resonates as truth, for me! it 's a fixed standard, or it is not truth at all! It is NOT a subjective, or selective multiple choice options, situation!
Interesting article, thanks. My belief/perception is that most so-called "drama" is created by unconscious egoic ways of reacting to situations, rather than consciously responding and taking time to reflect on the consequences of one's thoughts and actions.
There's nothing necessarily boring about being well-supplied with material goods like food and housing. What can be missing are a desire to help others - for example, to care for children, the elderly and the sick - and the skills necessary to enjoy communicating with one's fellow humans on every level. We have been remarkably successful at creating a relative abundance of food, housing and material goods in the advanced capitalist economies. Never forget that it is these societies that have created the greatest intellectual and cultural achievements of human history - the universities, the music, the art, the literature, the sciences... These are not possible without relative material abundance. The cure for boredom is active pursuit of friendships and creative activities - but especially showing Christian, self-sacrificing, personal love to others when they need to be cared for.
think people actually need to have problems to solve or challenges and if they don’t have problems they create them. (Drama or worse) That’s why you see so many trust fund kids or celebrity kids who are looking for trouble.
Also kids who grew up in difficult circumstances can be more adaptable when crisis comes because they have experienced challenges before and overcome them.
"WE" don't seek drama in my experience but women most certainly do hence they will chase after the bad boys rather than the "boring and reliable" boys pretty much all of the time.
Some women chase 'bad' boys, depending on their imprinting from their fathers, and what 'masculinity' was messaged to them. I know many women, who marry reliable men, usually they came from secure homes. There are men who chase 'narcissistic' types of women, these men can be dependent, weak, lacking in confidence, unsuccessful with women which can make them bitter toward all women. Far too simplistic to divide the gender differences in such a way. Dimensional differences, differences in personalities play a bigger role.
Generally speaking, Contrived drama and politically correct grievances are a sure sign of an affluent society. Petty busybodies usually can’t compete with authentic drama of trying times or even the normal ebb and flow of subsistence level life. Growing up in post war USA, when I was a child the apple sauce running into the breaded chicken on a dinner plate really irked me. After a life of experiences both wonderful and tragic, I’m glad to have both the apple sauce and breaded chicken to the exclusion of that inconsequential grievance :-)
Wow! I think this paragraph is THE best description of my life (and I'm 73!) and behavior that I have ever come across! It's really too late .....but thanks!
"A plausible way to overcome drama seeking lies in the old stoic habit of being far harder on oneself than on others. Whenever you find yourself indulging in negative emotions and feelings of outrage about the conduct of others, go do a difficult task that you don’t want to do, or make some sort of sacrifice. To put it in more dramatic terms, don’t make war on others, make war on yourself—your own weaknesses and vices."
Except we didn’t evolve, we were CREATED. Which makes your point even more important. We were created for a PURPOSE!
christians havent evolved Ill give you that, but everything else in nature has for the past 3.5 billion years
Zero proof of macroevolution, although plenty for microevolution.
you sound like tucker carlson. Denial of reality doesnt change reality.

I read the same thing, they had lots of time to lay around and 'play.' I am sure it was different in cold climates though.
Yeah, like Rock, Scissors, Paper. Rock-Rock. Dang, tied again!

and the technocratcs designed social media for this very reason
nothing like a little mind control to sway millions of voters while they're at it... https://eccentrik.substack.com/p/technocracy-takeover-googles-ephemeral
They've utilized mind control so many ways. I've found some of the smartest people to be the one's without televisions.

yes we do. He probably considers himself a "classic liberal," but I hear ya

Coolidge is my favourite president.
Why?

It requires cognitive dissonance to deny evolution.
Q: Is it creation or evolution?
A: YES
I think I made a general comment, don't remember what you wrote, toward the theory of creationism. People can believe in whatever they wish though.
Quite the contrary! It takes far more blind faith to believe in evolution, than Intelligent design and creation. even Darwin finally acknowledged he'd got it wrong with his THEORY of evolution!

You are perfectly entitled to accept or reject what resonates as Truth for you.

Drama can be created out of nothing. Narcissism in our selfie culture(s) is such a big problem now that there is a "World Narcissistic Abuse Day." https://www.nationaldaycalendar.com/international/world-narcissistic-abuse-awareness-day-june-1

Yeah, there are only 2 type of people in life- those that overgeneralize- and those that don't
