I remember well Rush saying our military’s purpose & mission should NOT be a social experiment.
In the next decade (or two, if we are lucky) the US Navy will refind its mission in the South China Sea or the western Pacific between China-Japan-Guam-Australia-Indonesia. Based on the current US military culture, the result will be a tragic and devastating loss of life brought about by careerist and weak admirals who compromised the Navy by prostituting themselves to woke politicians.
This repeats a pattern seen in WW1 &WW2. Namely, many peacetime admirals and captains were woefully unprepared for actual combat. At least the failed wars in Iraq and Afganistan offered some real combat training for ground-based col's and capt's and lieut's. Perhaps the carrier personael also kept war-fit ,at least for land targets.
Looks like the Navy is going full BudLight.
Like all large companies the Navy has to "Experiment" with marketing ploys and tactics too.

My dear father, 98 years old, who served in WWII in the US Navy, would not understand. He is still living, but with some of his sharpness gone now, this would be lost on him, as it should because this is lacking sense.
My Dad, the WWII enlistee and eventual Chief Petty Officer USN, would never understand these changes. Glad your Dad lives to remember the real Navy.

Just one of the reasons I'm not re-enlisting. They ask my why not you have over 12 years!?. It's simply not congruent with being the sharp end of the sword of the nations power. Doesn’t matter, either way. I am not debating whether or not it’s a good idea for women to be in combat roles. Dr, McCullough (or someone) wrote that it’s hard to get people to join the Navy because nobody wants to spend months at sea with no women around. And that explains the Navy’s rationale for trying to recruit people with a male homosexual/transsexual recruiter.
It’s nonsense because A) there ARE women in every branch of the military and B) a transsexual male would DETER most men from joining.
