I definitely believe that the two pictures of the suspect are not the same person. You are right. The nose is not the same. It's also odd the victim was scheduled to go before a grand jury in the near future. I wonder what he was going to say? Sounds to me like it resembles the demise of eye witnesses to the Kennedy assassination. Than again maybe I'm just too old to believe in coincidences.
I heard Nancy P bought a bunch of stock than sold it.. and feds were about to find out.. don’t know if it’s true either. Probably lots are guilty of that.
"The CEO story is a TOTAL PSYOP. It even looks staged. Think critically and it doesn't make sense. Why would an ultra-wealthy CEO, who had been supposedly been getting death threats, be walking totally alone in NYC on a cold early morning, without security, without getting a driver, and without a coat which could have concealed his identity? He wouldn't. People like this get private drivers and private security. How did it just happen that there were no other people on the sidewalk at that time to get in the way, and the hit just happened in the direct line of video camera? THEN, the police release all of these details and video like within minutes of this happening? Doesn't happen."
Certainly makes sense to me that a CEO of a hated health insurance company would know how much animosity is out there being directed at him and his company. He would know this. He's got a net worth of tens of millions. So of course he would have security with him when in public.
However, if the hit was staged, the question is "why", why did they fake the killing of the UHC CEO?
Yes, I remember a colleague from the UK was in New Orleans for a meeting around 20 years ago and was about to walk to a meeting at a hotel just along the street from his and his hotel doorman asked him where he was going and he motioned to the hotel up the street and said I am going to that hotel and the doorman said I will get you a taxi sir and the guy said its ok I can walk and the doorman said no it is complementary, one of our guests was murdered walking to that hotel last week. The guy took the free taxi ride. If a doorman looks after an ordinary guy like that I think you have a good point in what you say unless the CEO was into some business he wanted no witnesses to.
Entering Witness Protection Program? One report is that the DOJ was about to charge him with some type of crime. Problem with news reports is that there is so much wrong info and conjecture just to get a story out.
insider trading maybe. Apparently he and some other top UHC exec's sold a bunch of shares of company stock just prior to an announcement that tanked the price of the stock.
There had been definite insider trading going on. United Health insiders including the murder victim knew that the Dept. of Justice was launching an anti-trust investigation, so they sold their shares before this news became public. They got full value for what they sold, and the other shareholders experienced the drop in value after the investigation was known publicly. The guy who was killed was supposed to testify. I thought that perhaps someone who didn't want him to speak to investigators hired a hit, but as someone else seems to have suggested - maybe he's going into witness protection and it is just meant to give the impression that he died. I suppose could have been staged. One of the news items that touches on the insider trading is here, though many news outlets have covered this. https://nypost.com/2024/12/04/us-news/slain-unitedhealth-ceo-brian-thompson-was-facing-doj-probe-for-insider-trading-report/
seriously? the commenter is watching too many hollywood movies. the radical left is saying the murder is justified because he was too much of a blue-blooded capitalist and that the insurance industry is not equality based. The communist infection has increased in the US so much so that the marxists no longer hide their genuine motivations. This reminds me of the the uni-bomber.
He's not a capitalist! Capitalism doesn't exist in the US. Capitalism is where a buyer and seller get together, agree on a price, and then exchange the product or service for the agreed upon price. If the government is involved, it is NOT capitalism! The government is heavily involved with health "insurance". Health "insurance" adds NO VALUE to the health care system. They are parasites, sucking up 20 cents of every health care dollar and for what? They add nothing to health care. It's not capitalism. It's some weird form of government/corporate merger that Mussolini called Fascism
no they're not. Capitalism is as I said. People like to blame all our economic ills on capitalism. We don't have capitalism. We have an aberration that began as capitalism but then morphed into corporate monopoly capitalism with government interference.
US Founders had a deep distrust of corporations, having witnessed how the East India Company had corrupted Parliament, so they severely limited corporations in the new republic. When US was founded, one corporation could not own another corporation, there were no Limited Liability corporations (a.k.a. the corporate shield), and corporations had to renew their charters every 5 years. Over time, the wealthy got the politicians to change corporate law to what we have today. One corporation not being able to own another would prevent, or at least slow down, the creation of monopolies. LLC's are now used by criminal corporate exec's to let them break the law over and over and over, and they don't have to worry about going to jail, the corporation pays a fine and the criminal exec's just consider the fine to be part of the cost of doing business, and so they continue breaking the law in the future.
The Founders had the right idea, but they didn't go far enough. They should have banned corporations in the US altogether by making the ban part of the Constitution, so that lawmakers decades down the road couldn't change that.
I think the CEO was going to release some information…that the elites didn’t want released. The guy at the hostel has different clothes, your observation about the bridge of his nose makes me clearly think it’s a different guy.
A few things that strike me about the info released so far if, indeed, your bullet list is comprehensive. (Honestly, after the Crooks investigation debacle it's pretty clear that investigators are an equal mix of deliberate and accidental incompetence so taking anything they say early on at face value is a low-confidence endeavor.)
1. The "killer" was there for over a week but we get a timeline of him that covers only a tiny fraction of that time. This is one of the biggest problems with pinning down the guy's identity.
2. What prompted Brian Thompson to take that route at that narrow band of time? Was he heading into the conference or back to his room? Shooter had incredibly good intel to know he had time to go into Starbucks for a few minutes before Thompson would traverse the path.
3. Who else interacted with Thompson that morning? Was he staying in an NYC hotel alone or was he commuting in and out of the city during the conference?
4. Did the recovered cell phone have a secure messaging app on it? Crypto accounts? Pictures of Putin... (I trust you all know to what I am alluding...)
5. Have the police said absolutely what kind of bicycle down to the make and model? Electric or conventional? Or do we just get "bicycle" that can later mean motorcycle?
(#5) News reports that i have read have repeatedly said "e-bike."
(#2) A report by New York Post online Dec. 6 said that a private security company that has previously provided a bodyguard for Thompson said they know that United Healthcare has a security team, because they get many threats, and also, other reports said his wife knew there was a recent threat against Thompson but did not know details... so he had a threat, his company has a security team, and he's walking on a New York Street without a bodyguard.
This is from that New York Post article: "The head of a private security firm who previously provided bodyguards to Thompson was perplexed by the 50-year-old’s lack of security while walking through Manhattan."
"“I assure you, that company does have an internal security team and staff,” Philip Klein, the head of Klein Investigations, told The Post Thursday."
"“I know they do, they get a lot of threats from people who have been turned down, a lot of threats due to the cost of health care.”"
a) either took a chance on stealing one or bought one cash after getting to the city
b) did an 8 minute mile in Central Park after doing a mile or two bike ride full of adrenaline
Now, given that many pro assassins are ex-military this probably wouldn't be a big deal to them but would also mean that a pro did a hit in broad daylight and looked like a total amateur. Just seems to be one of those logically consistent / inconsistent paradoxes but...I'm not a contract killer so who knows what is considered "best practice" haha
True crime writing is fascinating. Motive. Opportunity. Evidence. When the murder is not an obvious moment of passion, but rather an apparently calculated exercise of will, the depth of observation needed increases. Your comments on your process of dispassionate analysis are very helpful. The variable that you encountered previously here in Dallas, distorted reports even by authorities, adds so many veils of obfuscation. Makes one wonder if one will ever get to the truth.
One thing that bothered me from the start was that reports kept saying the guy was a pro because he knew how to clear the weapon of a jam. The semiauto had a suppressor so ir the shooter wanted a near silent shot, he would have used subsonic ammo. Quite often some weapons won’t cycle properly when using subsonic ammo so it must be cycled by hand. A pro would know this and would have used a weapon that could cycle even with the lower energy generated by subsonic. This guy was obviously no professional.
It appeared the shooter was catching the empties in his left hand as he jacked the action of the pistol. The casings had been pre-embossed, and he left them behind as he fled the scene. Maybe he chose the weapon and the ammunition deliberately to allow him to catch and place the casings carefully in a particular place. Would a pro do that? Hell, I don't know.
I don't know if you had read - each bullet had a single word message. One said, "Deny." One said, "Defend." And one said "depose." So the bullets when they were found, were observed to have these words on them. United Health is being investigated for possible anti-trust violations. Insiders knew weeks before the general public, and sold their shares before the general public knew about the anti-trust investigation. Thompson, who was killed, knew about the investigation and sold his stock before the news was public - so now there is concern about insider trading, which this was. With DOJ investigation(s) in progress, Thompson was to speak with DOJ and his murder would prevent that - unless as someone suggested, it was a fake assassination to allow him to go into witness protection. The messages on the bullets also relates to a 2010 book title, "Delay, deny, defend" about United Health's alleged practices in avoiding paying for treatment. Allegedly.
The shooter is a cool cucumber. Professional, which I believe is what most rational observers have agreed upon. Rationally, the victim, perhaps having a ton of doo do on the Covid laundering scam conspirators was the obvious guy to make dead, since he and his ilk cashed in their stocks in February and we now have a bulldog administration coming in. Time to pay the piper, the victim had to meet his demise, which could have been triggered by, pun intended, one simple thing he said to an associate that leaked. (Sorry John).
I do not believe the threats talked about by his wife or the etched casing of the shells are anything but part of the assassination play to distract. The one thing that sticks in my mind is how unconcerned the shooter was with the eye witness that he let pass by in the act of shooting and how he immediately dismissed it. That is irrational.
The lack of focus on and suspiciousness that neither the police nor the media has delved into the possibility that this was a marked hit to keep the victim from exposing a mountain of people involved in fraud and the bigger names exposed tells me it’s an Epstein type mark by a professional made to look like a street guy they might otherwise catch by everyday means. A ruse by internal justice that seems to fail a lot these days.
There was nothing rational about the shooter. He was in the irrational side of being, totally unemotional, focused, confident, and I suspect not working alone.
And yes, you may be standing next to another one while buying your coffee in the morning.
This is what happens to a citizenry that became a divided society that has been intentionally and insidiously demoralized and desensitized by daily lawless wretchedness.
To the younger folks out there, this is not normal even though you have been subliminally conditioned to think so, “it just is what it is”. It is the times we choose to live in.
I was a cop during the Sund, Pelosi, murder case many years ago. The Law Enforcement I was working with immediately suspected the husband. Later after the true murderer, Carrie Stayner had killed again, Kim Armstrong a ranger at Yosemite, the husband was released of suspicion and Carrie was arrested. It just proves that you cannot jump to conclusions, innocent people are harmed this way.
The timeline is the most suspicious thing. How would a shooter know when his target is leaving his hotel, the Marriott, yet the shooter is hanging around near the hotel the target is walking to, the Hilton? They are not across the street but some distance apart.
How does the shooter know where Brian Thompson would walk to at that time in the morning? One would expect the shooter to look for the target to leave the Marriott, then to follow him to a place that is darker with a lot fewer cameras, then to shoot him, rather than waiting at the Hilton under lights and cameras.
This simply defies any reasonable logic for someone who is smart enough to scope our the probabilities and to commit and complete an assassination.
I have no theories to add, just wanted to weigh in on how interesting it is to read your thought process. Though I too agree that the pictures don't look like the same person. And the fact that the discarded backpack turned out to contain Monopoly money definitely sounds like someone is trolling the authorities.
I definitely believe that the two pictures of the suspect are not the same person. You are right. The nose is not the same. This sounds like what is more likely to be going on and sends a clear message to any others who might spill any beans.
Spam.
One jacket has two chest pockets. The other doesn’t. One has backpack straps darker than the jacket. The other lighter.
I really fear for the safety of whoever this young one is. They hang it on someone in a hostel and everything goes away.
He was going to be working with the incoming Trump administration.
Now that is interesting.
Is that a fact…or is it speculation! That would explain a lot!
I heard Nancy P bought a bunch of stock than sold it.. and feds were about to find out.. don’t know if it’s true either. Probably lots are guilty of that.
I don't know for sure. I heard it through the grapevine.
A comment on a youtube video about this shooting:

I agree
The actual shooter
Has a narrow bridge
And his nose is actually crooked …
Getting ready to testify to the DOJ,
Nancy Pelosi can breathe easy now. 🤷

I agree! Things don’t add up.

It looked like a bicycle to me but whether it was electric or not I couldn't tell.
You mean that one picture of "the getaway", yes?
If it was a conventional bike then the shooter:
a) either took a chance on stealing one or bought one cash after getting to the city
b) did an 8 minute mile in Central Park after doing a mile or two bike ride full of adrenaline

Google “slide lock.”
I read that the shooter did use subsonic rounds.
Remember the two backpacks in "the Boston Massacre" ? One white. One grey. All right out in the open.... ?

Leaving those shells behind us also suspicious...
Do we really know Brian was killed?
Excellent perspective. I too think there's alot of discrepancy in their investigating. We probably will never know in this day and age
