Massive Car Park Conflagration in UK

Questionable statements about cause of fire.

A friend just sent sent me a BBC report dated 10 October 2023 about an enormous conflagration of a multistory parking garage at the Luton Airport. This initial report states that “it was thought the fire started in a diesel-powered car and then spread through the building.”

Yesterday fresh reports were released that the fire was “caused by a vehicle fault” and that a young man had been arrested in connection with the fire.

All of the above strikes me as puzzling and questionable. Like kerosene, diesel fuel has low volatility and does not readily combust unless it is placed under high pressure in a combustion chamber.

The fire department and press seem to be going out of their way to proclaim the fire was caused by a diesel car, and NOT by an electric vehicle (whose battery fires are notoriously difficult to extinguish).

The Daily Mail just published a video purporting to be the burning vehicle that originated the fire. The following is a still shot from the video. Though the image is not of sufficient quality to draw any firm conclusions, I am struck by what appears to be the center of combustion near the left front of the vehicle, forward of the fuel tank in an internal combustion car.

The location of the fire appears to correspond with the location displayed in these photos that resulted from a Google search for “Electric Vehicle Fire Images.”

Though my information is still too limited to draw any conclusions, the circumstances suggest that the car park inferno was either ignited or greatly stoked by electric car batteries, and that the authorities and media are now engaging in a conspicuous GREENWASHING operation.
