Poland On Hook for EU's Shady Deal with Pfizer
Pfizer sues Poland for exiting EU's purchase commitment for injections.
For centuries, the Polish people had to contend with aggression from the Austrian, German, and Russian states. In the autumn of 1939, the country was simultaneously invaded by Germany and Russia. After the guns felt silent in 1945, Poland was subjected to decades of Soviet domination, even though the Polish people seemed to possess a strong, instinctive antipathy to Marxism-Leninism. As Stalin himself remarked: trying to impose Communism on Poland is like “fitting a saddle onto a cow.”
Elaborating Stalin’s observation, historian Norman Davies remarked during the Cold War:
The official ideology [of Poland] is Marxism-Leninism, which no one openly admits to believing. For Marx expressed the German view, and Lenin the Russian one, and the meeting of these particular minds has always spelled Polish ruin.
In theory, the European Union was a political construct for creating greater harmony between Germany and France and the rest of Europe. Germany would, by means of this union, cooperate and support the other nations of Europe instead of dominating them.
The trouble that Poland now faces is not a Germany led by aggressive militarists, but a German-dominated European Union led by German dumb bunny EU President Ursula von der Leyen. After secretly negotiating (by text message) with Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla to purchase billions of doses of Pfizer-BioNTech garbage for EU nations, President von der Leyen subsequently “lost” these text messages (which presumably reveal the details of these negotiations).
This multi-billion-Euro version of “the dog ate my homework” is so preposterous that even the baleful New York Times refused to accept the excuse and has sued the EU for the “lost” texts.
Now comes the news that Pfizer is suing Poland for exiting the shady deal that President von der Leyen negotiated with Bourla—a deal that committed Poland to purchasing a massive quantity of Pfizer-BioNTech junk. As was recently reported in Politico:
In April 2022, then-Polish Health Minister Adam Niedzielski announced the country had stopped taking vaccine deliveries. He said Poland had invoked a force majeure clause in the contract, citing financial strain caused by the influx of refugees from the Ukraine war and the economic disruption that followed.
Readers of this Substack are aware of my perception that the bloody-minded politicians of the United States and Europe have catastrophically mismanaged relations and baited the Russian Bear for the last twenty years. Now Poland once again finds itself having to deal with the consequences of Europe’s poor leadership.
I hope that, with Pfizer’s decision to sue Poland, we will learn more in discovery about those “lost” text messages between EU President von der Leyen and Pfizer CEO Bourla.

Does this open the 'discovery" door for Poland to demand data like testing results, adverse reaction data, etc? If so, could get very ugly for Pfizer....
If it goes to court, Poland could win because allot would be revealed in discovery, not good for Pfizer.
