As far as the absorption issue with curcumin, there are now some companies making a nano-curcumin, making it much better absorbed. Also, consider taking a black pepper extract supplement, such as BioPerine for even better absorption of any & all supplements. It is a known nutrient absorption enhancer. One such company is Swanson, which is the one I take.
Just read an article on consumerlab.com (subscription unfortunately - consumer reports type for supplements) Costco’s Kirkland brand rated very high. They also noted that black pepper (bioperine) can interact with certain medications and should be aware of these. At too high doses can cause stomach bleeding. Just be aware! They gave a whole list of turmeric supplements they studied.
Hi Tucker - According to The Pill Book Guide to Natural Medicines by Michael Murray, ND, the dosage depends largely on the bromelain preparation. Most currently available is in the 1200-1800 MCU range with the typical for most conditions being 250 - 750 mg 3x/day between meals. I've been taking it for years together with quercetin (it often comes as a combined supplement) with no issues. It is virtually non-toxic based on animal studies where dosages up to 10 g per kg were no associated with any deaths.
Hi Jennifer - according to The Pill Book Guide to Natural Medicines by Michael Murray, ND, bromelain should be taken away from food, unless it is being used as a digestive aid, in which case it should be taken just before meals. Possible, but unconfirmed reactions include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, & increased menstrual flow. It is derived from the stems of pineapple, so anyone allergic to pineapple should not take it. For those who are not allergic or intolerant, it is virtually non-toxic, based on animal studies.
Thanks for that, Debra. I can eat pineapple. I took it along with several other vitamins and supplements, and I might have even taken it on a full stomach...so that could have been the problem. Usually vitamins and supplements on an empty stomach cause me to vomit, so I'll bet I took it on a full stomach.

That is very good additional information. Thank-you for sharing.
Very helpful
Sounds like a recipe for success!
Can anyone approximate how much bromelain would be toxic? I want to try it how would one figure out max dose for a person 130 lbs?

Thank you ! Bless you for answering.
Where can I get Bromelain. Any suggestions? I use Mercola and Natural news store for my curcumin.
Thanks
Lifeextension.com had good quality products. On the pricier end though.

Does anyone know when Bromelain should be taken? Empty or full stomach? I took it and vomited.
