That is very true, and it effectuates our downfall.

Idk what that is supposed to be.

Yes I agree. 2 Tim 3:1-5 says it all Brandon. “…in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful etc. “. There’s a long list so won’t quote it all here. I’m sure you will have seen it anyway.

Interesting tho is Paul’s advice to “turn away” from such ones. In fact, That whole chapter is good advice for true Christians , ending in verse 16,17 which says “all scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, FOR SETTING THINGS STRAIGHT, for disciplining in righteousness , so that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work”.

Mike Tyson may be richer but whether he’s “fully competent “ could be debated But wisdom is not to be found in this world’s system as you will be aware.

He is a good example of that.

That is the sad truth of this age! It is also why I chose not to watch a young man beat on an old man or two women rip each others faces! How can we expect a civil society when we praise physical violence?

This is Roman times gladiators minus the inhumanity and Ceasars thumbs down. All meant to take the masses minds off the state of the poor governance in effect. These are snake oil salesman and carpet baggers of the 21st century. My heart was for Tyson but as nature dictates only the youthful strong will prevail. Tyson was like the old knee wounded lead lion of the pride being evicted by the stronger undamaged challenger. So sad to see but it's reality and nature at its finest. Tyson is definitely still unbelievably powerful but as you know, nerves in the knee are the worst for a boxer as all your power and movements come from the legs....ahhhh, good old aging gracefully. Truly a Darwinian moment. My heart is still with the old lion leader of the pride!

I love Tyson, 20 mil, not too shabby to lose.

I wondered how much he would make on the worlds “biggest” fight

Not bad

When you say “I love Tyson”, what do you mean, exactly? Do you know him personally? What is the basis for your “love”?

What a strange comment, I love him the way I loved Muhammed Ali, or the way I love Dr. Peter McCullough, not romantically. I think you can figure out what I meant.

Wonder if Tyson's teeth are intact?

Anybody getting in the ring with Tyson needs ear guards since our jaws aren't known to weaken with age, unless we lose our teeth, to the extent of the legs.

😆 that's why he was biting his glove

I think every single person who spent money on this disgusting display of ignorance deserves exactly what they got - nothing. I am grateful that Tyson was not seriously injured (aside from his ego). It is amazing what people will do for money and they did get a lot of money.

Well my goodness what did they expect with a 58 year old man against a 27 year old???!

Well… as Mr. Leake referenced… for those who watched the three part docu-series on the participants’ training… the answer (with regards to Tyson’s performance in the ring) is/was “more.”

I think Jake got $40 million and Tyson $20 million. I thought Tyson's hand to eye coordination was amazing, and he still packed good punches, but yeah, his legs started to do him in, round two. He was not good on his feet, his legs actually looked weak, and he was definitely unable to float on them. A lot of hype that generated a lot of money. I liked the Taylor vs. Serrano match. Taylor was accused of fighting dirty, I could not tell while watching if the brow split given to Amanda Serrano was deliberate or not. Katie Taylor won anyway.

Ya Amanda knew exactly where Katie's head was and Amanda turned into full force. Katie's head was always down to tuck her chin in to prevent from getting upper cuts. Amanda was not backing her head off Katie's therefore it was actually Amanda's own fault as Katie's head was down and not looking in her direction.

Katie did have her head down, I noticed, good move.

I also "have a tender spot" for the boxers of my youth...Muhammad Ali "The Greatest", etc. and I had foolishly thought Mike Tyson would win decisively against Jake Paul. 🙃

Me too! But that is what we do with our heroes.

Tyson wasn't trying.

Tyson is an interesting character. I am sure he expected to lose. I think he swallowed his pride to do this - he must need money. Unfortunately he has been a victim to scam artist Don King- who knows his situation, but it’s too bad he felt compelled to do this. Maybe he did it for the other guy- great press and lots of money

Tyson is still in better shape than many in our military. I'm sorry he didn't know when to quit.

I have never cared for ladies boxing, but that preliminary bout last night had fisticuffs, blood and (unfortunately) head butts galore. Toe to toe warriors the whole fight. Whew!

I agree it seemed Tyson had more zip in his legs during the training vids of him I saw. He came out charging like the old Iron Mike briefly in the first round, but Jake danced backwards and clenched through it, and after that Tyson seemed stymied, slow and old - even with those short two minute rounds.

Youth was served.

His legs being a problem was obvious as soon as he appeared I the tunnel and tripped but caught himself. Jake held back making sure not to repeat the same mistake Larry Holmes did. But in the matrix in which we find ourselves, Covid, climate change, woke cult, TDS, it fit right in. I think people were wishing that Mike would have it in him just one more time so that perhaps it could snap us out of this unbelievable mess we find ourselves.

His leg strength may not be much diminished. He's more likely suffering from a different age-related phenomenon. One of my favorite fishing spots is a Florida jetty, consisting of sofa to volkswagon sized boulders piled helter-skelter, and very long. It's dangerous, but much faster and fun to run across the tops of the rocks, leaping from one to the next, rather than laboriously climbing up and down each one. In my fifties, I made a trip back after a few years, started leaping from rocktop to rocktop and was horrified to discover with each landing there was a "give" I never had before, and a momentary hesitation before I could propel myself into the next jump. It was simply impossible to do it. My legs weren't any weaker, I know that from my gym workouts, the weight I could move hadn't changed. My perception was the neurons just wouldn't fire like they used to. It's a permanent change. I considered jumping rope, that might help, but my knees get sore with too much of that. I like and can do hill sprints, which help no doubt. They say the fast-twitch muscles are the first to go. I think the fast-twitch muscles can be there as before, but just can't twitch as fast!

Those of us who never had any fast twitch anything don't miss them.
