Levofloxacin is dangerous. It has black box warnings, as do ALL Fluoroquinalone drugs. Such drugs have been banned or strictly limited in Europe. These drugs should NOT be prescribed so freely. They were meant to be used in certain cancers. They can cause permanent damage. They interfere with mitochondrial DNA. They, therefore modify genes. They are a topoisomerase interrupter. In the USA these dangerous drugs are far and away over-prescribed.

Thanks for the heads-up that levofloxacin (brand name Levaquin) is a fluoroquinolone. These are indeed dangerous drugs but some U.S. doctors haven't gotten the word yet.

It would be useful for everyone to remember this list of fluoroquinalone drugs so as to carefully research the dangers. All fluoroquinalones are dangerous...and over-prescribed. One doctor said: it's using a nuclear bomb to kill when a .22 caliber rifle could do the job.

WHAT ARE DRUG NAMES OF FLUOROQUINOLONES?

Avelox

Baxdela

Cipro

Cipro XR

Ciprofloxacin

Delafloxacin

Factive

Floxin

Gemifloxacin

Levaquin

Levofloxacin

Levofloxacin Systemic

All of the generic fluoroquinolone names have "flox" in them, with one exception which is cinoxacin. So this is an easy way to spot these drugs -- check the generic name!

Many people who have permanent health problems from fluoroquinolones say "I was floxed."

That actor who played Flox in Star Trek Enterprise was perfect for the part. He looked just weird enough in real life, and/or could make excellent weird faces, to look like a believable alien doctor for the series. He's also a very good actor.

It was the least liked of all the Star Trek series; but, to me, it is the best one out of all the Star Trek series, and is my absolute favorite of all of them, it is that good. Except the "puppy dog" looking Zindi alien race. That costume was ridiculous.

My elderly father also ruptured a tendon on levaquin and sadly was already suffering from dementia so doctors just stupidly assumed his sudden inabillity to walk was of central nervous system origin. This injury began a 9-month long decline ending in his death.

My own story is that I discovered the dangers of cipro as part of my inquires about fluoride. Another public policy disaster I won't go into here. It gave me skeletal pain which is not surprising given what is known about "skeletal fluorosis" in certain Indian towns where natural water sources are high in fluoride. Now some may say "imaginery" or "psychosomatic" because not everyone suffers symptoms. But here is my proof. I was enjoying a holiday in a small Mexican surfing town. On Day 2, I experienced familiar symptoms of a diverticulitis flare up. Went to the free clinic in the little town square and the kindly doctor gave me antibiotic pills with a name I'd never seen, right there on the spot. I was eager to get back to surfing and so started the pills right away. Being in the holiday mood I didn't give it another thought. BUT within 3 hours every joint in my body was aching and stiff. I felt encased in a shell like a lobster. ONLY THEN did I read the box, and saw that this was a fluoroquinolone. Returned to doctor and asked for something else. The joint pain and the diverticulitis quickly resolved.

I was prescribed Cipro for something minor like a mild sinus infection. Took my first dose and quickly reacted with itching, swelling of ear canals, swelling of throat. I was frightened that my airway would swell closed, and it was a 20 minute drive to the nearest medical help. My husband drove fast and I was lucky; the swelling didn't progress that far. The ER doc treated the incident like it was no big deal -- told me to go buy myself some Benadryl, and not take Cipro again (no kidding, doc).

I learned more about the fluoroquinolones after a close relative was diagnosed with hypermobile-type Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Some of the people on EDS support groups are there because they were "floxed" by fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Believe me, the world of EDS is a world you don't want to join.

Expand full comment

EDS runs in my family. It’s a terrible disease, and we don’t even have it as badly as many. My sister has lost most of her teeth because of it. My mother and another sister had/have terrible back problems causing excruciating pain and requiring surgery. The effects multiply and worsen over time.

Expand full comment

I know what you're talking about. My hEDS/HSD relative has "terrible teeth" and will probably need a lower denture soon. She has terrible back pain, along with assorted neurological symptoms; she's having MRIs and CT scans, and hopes surgery is an option. You're absolutely right that the hypermobile-type EDS effects multiply and worsen over time. Hypermobile-type EDS is like a slow-motion train wreck. I hate to think of people joining the world of hypermobile-EDS because ignorant doctors "flox" them.

I'm convinced that both hEDS and HSD are epigenetic disorders, not genetic like the other 12 types of EDS. One thing that makes me think this is the shocking number of children, teens, and young adults who are being diagnosed with both autism and hEDS or HSD. . . And I believe William Walsh is correct that autism is an epigenetic disorder. The incidence of autism is rising steeply, and so is the incidence of hEDS/HSD (though I haven't seen a good graph of the curve yet; and statistics are hard to get because diagnosis is hard to get). Walsh says epigenetic disorders can be inherited but don't follow the classical genetic inheritance "rules." And he says they are difficult to treat because hundreds of body processes can go wrong.

On the hopeful side, check out the Cusack Protocol, if you haven't already. There's a Facebook page for information and support. My relative did the full Cusack Protocol for about 6 months and got some improvement, but not "enough" because she has several other health issues that get in the way (Lyme Disease for example). But for some people, Cusack (slowly) produces excellent results.

Expand full comment

Autism and EDS seem to be related. Both run in my family. A few have both conditions, but most have one or the other. Some have escaped altogether. The autism is mostly of the extremely high functioning kind, and we didn’t know until one of my nieces was diagnosed some years ago. Didn’t know about the EDS either. My mother had both. At least knowing explains a lot that was otherwise incomprehensible.

Yes! Huge Black Box warnings by the FDA and Health Canada. It is prescribed freely in Canada too and loads of horrendous adverse effects are not slowing down the prescription rate for Cipro here either. There are support groups for people permanently or temporarily disabled by Cipro. There must be another antibiotic that can help with this pneumonia bacteria. If there isn't, then a risk assessment of harm from illness vs potential harm from a drug would have to be done depending on the severity of the pneumonia and the age.

Mycoplasma Pneumoniae (sp?) is not a bacteria. As I understand it, correct me if I'm wrong, Mycoplasmas are kind of half way between a virus and a bacteria. Decades ago I was diagnosed with high antibody titers to it, meaning I'd had past infection; though, to my knowledge, I've never had pneumonia ("walking pneumonia" perhaps, thinking it was a cold or flu probably?). Mycoplasmas have been on the rise and are quite dangerous and harmful.

So mycoplasma, is that not related to TB?

TB is caused by infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis

Evolution TB is caused by members of the specie Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC), which includes: Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), the etiologic agent of TB in humans; M. africanum, that causes TB in humans only in certain regions of Africa; M. bovis, M. caprae and M. pinnipedii, causing TB in wild and domesticated mammals; M. microti, that causes TB only in voles.

There are several, if not many, kinds of Mycoplasmas, of which Mycoplasma Pneumoniae is only one of them. What was that one I used to know by heart that is associated with Gulf War Syndrome as well as my physical disabilities, CFIDS and Lyme Disease (and perhaps even the Fibromyalgia is associated with it and/or other Mycoplasmas)? I just looked it up, and it is: Mycoplasma Fermentans Incognitus. Most of this nefarious shit is likely manmade and was created in a laboratory.

The report cites Chinese Health Authorities from the National Health Commission who, among other things, blame the new cases on the lifting of restrictions. I'm not aware of any reason to believe Chinese authorities about anything. After all, and like our own government, when it came to Covid they lied about everything that mattered. Given that the source reportedly is Chinese authorities, even if there is some truth to the story there undoubtedly is a (perverse) agenda. It does seem telling that they're blaming the new outbreak on the lifting of restrictions.

"when it came to Covid they lied about everything that mattered"

Well, actually, early on in the pandemic, the Chinese produced a document on COVID-19 which included a sensible, successful treatment protocol for COVID-19. If U.S. doctors and hospitals had adopted that protocol, the U.S. death rate after about mid-March 2020 would have been just about zero. Here's the title of the document, which was available on the web in fluent English translation on March 4, 2020:

Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (Trial Version 7)

(Released by National Health Commission & State Administration of

Traditional Chinese Medicine on March 3, 2020)

Link: https://www.who.int/docs/default-source/wpro---documents/countries/china/covid-19-briefing-nhc/1-clinical-protocols-for-the-diagnosis-and-treatment-of-covid-19-v7.pdf?sfvrsn=c6cbfba4_2

What did WHO do with this valuable document? As far as I can tell, they stuffed it in their back pocket and pretended it didn't exist -- perhaps because Bill Gates objected to there being a non-vaccine solution to the pandemic?

In any case, I got useful information about COVID-19 by "listening in" (via the web) on conversations among (English-speaking) Chinese doctors in February 2020. That's probably how I heard about the "Chinese Guidance" document as people called it. BTW, I haven't been able to access earlier editions of the Chinese Guidance; but it would be interesting to know how early they published an effective treatment protocol.

As I understand it, several members of the Wuhan Virology Institute staff became ill and were hospitalized in October 2019; apparently recovered and went back to work. This may have been the real start of the pandemic. It's hard to know who knew what, and when, and how the actual events compared to the pandemic planned by Baric, Gates, et al. You can bet there was plenty of "need to know" info rationing; plenty of "plausible deniability"; and plenty of CYA. Also plenty of billionaires and huge corporations eager to join the game and exploit the opportunities for their own gains.

The part about Kathy Hochul is terrifying. Why would a government need that kind of power if not for tyranny?

All SYSTEMS - starting with science and media and government - must be decentralized and made transparent. When there is centralized control there will always we corruption.

At the Society of Problem Solvers we believe the number one most important solvable problem in our world today is the corrupted systems. We also believe the way to remedy this peacefully is to create new high-trust systems that make the old ones obsolete.

How? Using Swarm Theory, or Human Swarm Intelligence.

Here is an example of how it can be used for businesses. But we see it being used for government, science, academia, food, medicine, media, and any other corrupt systems worldwide. Please come discuss solutions with us.

The worst part of the powers Hochul is claiming is that confinement to quarantine camps is indefinite. Nothing in the regulation gives any means for determining release. When asked on the stand how a confined person was supposed to be released, the government spokesman paused before finally saying “I guess they could call a lawyer.” Oh, and the next worse, or equally bad part is that a person can be confined because he or she “might have been exposed to a[n undefined] communicable disease.” Keep in mind that the common cold is a communicable disease.

I read the article, an interesting collection of words.

My comment - greed is the source of most of our problems throughout history. Greed has been documented and reviled repeatedly from biblical sources, sagas, and other narratives that demonstrate human nature.

What is described here as swarm intelligence is an ideal state but one that can only happen after we subdue our native tendency towards greed.

All the names mentioned in this article, Bezos, Gates, et al are currently considered to be great innovators and therefore deserve to be held in high esteem. Indeed they should be held in high esteem for their vision and drive but they should never be held as gods walking among us as they are now.

Their extreme self pampering behaviors, billion dollar yachts, massive houses on isolated estates, and other excessive possessions should make them the objects of ridicule, signs of inner insecurity that money can never resolve. Instead we worship them, giving them the validation they need to keep going down the same road. Greed has made them blind to the context in which they live, but instead has convinced them of their own self generated righteousness that makes them pursue ever more money for themselves.

That is not a sign of happiness, it is greed.

How to change things to keep greed under control? That’s a good question.

One idea is to peg the wages / compensation packages of the highest paid employees as a multiple of the lowest paid employees. Strict adherence to that code of corporate responsibility would go a long way towards developing swarm intelligence. This has been done before. After WWII, Japanese corporate leaders agreed to limit their compensation packages to either 10 or 15 times their lowest paid employees. I’m not sure what motivated these executives to agree to this arrangement but my guess is that they saw the need for unity of purpose to rebuild their economy as quickly as possible and saw equitable treatment of their employees as the best way to rebuild.

Guess what? Japan was soon back on the map as a major world economic power.

Another element that is missing in large collective enterprises, whether business or political, is personal accountability for decisions being made.

Politics in particular is rife with deal makers who blatantly abrogate their responsibility to their constituents on a regular basis and get away with it. Nobody seems to know who did what and always have their fingers pointed at someone else.

Holding personal accountability would go a long way to achieve ideal collective enterprises.
