None of the Covid psyop is possible without the social media virtue signaling that bled into the public consciousness.

Right. I personally don't think that the mass formation would have been possible without social media.

People would not have put up with lockdown for so long without it either.

Yep. The Covid Karens posted about how "kind and considerate" they were nonstop on Fakebook. Ugh.

That's such a good point. People love being virtue signalers, yet most barely have their own crap together!

Exactly! I guess that’s why Jesus said the first take the log out of your own eye!

Thank you, John. I continue to be grossed out by virtue signaling in all its forms. Another vomitable example for me, earlier this morning, was on my spouse's Facebook page: Some guy's photo in the typical HHS "We can do this!" banner, but this time with "I will stand against racism / I got my COVID-19 vaccine." Another snapshot for the BS collection.

It's like the movie "Groundhog Day." I keep asking, "Can it get any nuttier?" The answer, after more than three years, continues to be the same.

Thanks again for the much-needed dose of sanity!

Yes, that is very possible. I think it is also just years and years of society taking in propaganda in music, tv shows, educational institutions, movies and the “news” without any question or critical thought.

John 7:18

Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

I confess, I did virtue signal at the beginning of the plandemic. I wore a N95 mask for about an hour at work, then decided it was too hot, and took it off. I got my mom to make me some very basic cloth masks, no pleats, single layer, the edges weren't even finished. I didn't want anything that actually impeded the flow of oxygen much, *just something to appease the folks who were really freaking out.* I only wore it while passing through the somewhat indoor but partially open air produce market part of my workplace. But when my boss told me we had to wear masks all the time, outside, in summertime Texas heat, in sauna-like conditions, thanks to Governor Greg Abbott, that was the end of my occasional virtue signalling. I told my boss that she and her family were spineless (it's a family owned business), and left.

Haven't worn a mask since then.

Thank you for standing up against the mask ridiculousness.

They didn’t stand for anything by continuing to wear a cloth mask to appease. Those of us who wore nothing, endured moths of ridicule and being attacked in public, we are the ones who stood. Complying is complying regardless of what level or justification is used

Hello Wyllow Leaves,

To me, the important thing is, people are waking up, some belatedly, but they are waking up. I am thankful for each and every one who stands against masking-- even if it takes some time to get there. And I am most thankful for those who stood against the masks from the beginning-- so thank you. Seriously, thank you.

Vainglory is another useful term...we all are tempted by it and need to be aware, as your article emphasizes...Thanks much!

Virtue signaling is the act of overtly broadcasting an act of sacrifice that portends to make the world a better place either by example or via a superiority to others. An ego derived atonement for real or perceived sins that defines the suffering it causes others as collateral damage necessary for a paradigm shift away from a damaging status quo. Legacy systems are always a target whether they deserve to be or not. Logic, discretion, thoughtfulness, grace, and context do not apply.

Virtue signalling and cancel culture is orchestrated from the top down. It's one part of the plan to manipulate us into willingly giving up our freedoms. Check out my last article on this very subject:

When I see people now as of April 2023 wearing masks, I can't help but think they are grossly

uninformed and unwitting minions for the new world order. I see no virtue in fear and ignorance.

Not once did I feel a social pressure to join the nutters in their conformity and compliance.

It's all due to social media prevalence.

Social media has became a powerful tool of the elites, who are capitalizing on human vanity and natural social inclination. It used to be interesting to have discussions about politics or social dilemma’s because you could present various points of views and judge them on their possible merits. Now, political discussions are just a contest of who sounds more virtuous and who can paint their opposition as selfish and ignorant. There have always been heated debates but what we are experiencing now is a whole different beast. Those running this show are clearly using it to keep the country divided so that they can easily conquer.

I've never understood how people can be influenced by political correctness, cancel culture, virtue signaling, peer pressure or any other form of groupthink mentality. I must be missing the gene that causes people to actually care what others think about them. I've always kept my own counsel on what is right and wrong, valid or propaganda, etc. Even at the height of the falsely inflated "pandemic," I openly ignored all mandates and restrictions - except to wear a mask on planes - and remain unvaxxed.

Well, with "COVID" it was your communities "health" that was being affected by you not wearing a mask or getting "vaccinated." Remember they told children they could kill grandma? So in their view, those of us who were non-compliant were selfish. This is still how most people in my state (VT) still adhere to... purely evil to manipulate people that way, when they knew it was all lies.

"Wearing a mask or getting a shot (and announcing it on social media) was a way to signal that you “cared” about your fellow man and were “doing your part” to protect the community"

Now, getting a shot and announcing it on social media has become a prelude towards your next of kin sadly announcing your shocking, sudden, unexpected, and premature passing on the same social media page.

very nice article John. Thank you.

I agree with the Aristotelean view of virtue.

Virtue signaling is the opposite of humility. And it is a clear mark of arrogance and selfishness.

It represents a lower life-state, so in my opinion when you actively pursue to elevate your life energy, you naturally overcome such behaviors.

Although from personal experience I admit its one of the hardest to overcome. Selfishness I mean.
