I have no credible expertise in this area. My basis for understanding is the Health Physics course I took at Navy Nuclear Power School many years ago. One major takeaway is that ionizing radiation affects the DNA in cells, often changing, say, an Oxygen atom into Nitrogen. While that's a bad example because of the short half-life of N16, other nuclide "imposters" can result in changed inherited characteristics during cell replication. In the years since (actually, the last couple of years) as MRNA has come into the discussion, and by extrapolation, changes in proteins in general seem likely to be even more significant when it comes to harming animal life. One other major takeaway was the Health Physics instructor's statement that he could no longer believe in Darwinian evolution because genetic changes are never beneficial: no sane person seeks to have his or her genes altered.

How tranmissible is MRNA? It seems to me that if an animal is injected, the MRNA affects the proteins in all or most cells. If I then eat that chicken or pig or cow, that animal's proteins are assimilated into my body, along with the MRNA or at least as affected by the MRNA. So I suffer whatever effects MRNA might cause. Am I wrong in thinking this? Anybody expert enough or able to point to an analysis one way or the other?

I have no credible expertise in this area. My basis for understanding is the Health Physics course I took at Navy Nuclear Power School many years ago. One major takeaway is that ionizing radiation affects the DNA in cells, often changing, say, an Oxygen atom into Nitrogen. While that's a bad example because of the short half-life of N16, other nuclide "imposters" can result in changed inherited characteristics during cell replication. In the years since (actually, the last couple of years) as MRNA has come into the discussion, and by extrapolation, changes in proteins in general seem likely to be even more significant when it comes to harming animal life. One other major takeaway was the Health Physics instructor's statement that he could no longer believe in Darwinian evolution because genetic changes are never beneficial: no sane person seeks to have his or her genes altered.

(Minorly, a note to proofreader: Protestant should be capitalized when it refers to a branch of Christianity, just as Roman Catholic is capitalized.) But it does seem established that the rulers of Canada are rejecting the Christian principle of encouraging free speech and open discourse.
