John: I appreciate the willingness to be corrected, which is something we don’t often see in journalism, politics, or health care. I appreciate you crossing all three in an honest manner.

Seems rather obvious He wanted to get caught with his ghost gun intact. He is taking one for the Blue team.

The gun will be the criminal, not Luige, he will play the victim card.

Agreed. Everyone who has watched drama knows to destroy the weapon. Video partial face match is not enough to convict. Something wrong.

Or due to his mental pathology. Who knows what wires were getting crossed in his messed up head.

Appearance of the ubiquitous 9mm full metal jacket round, typically used only as range ammo outside the military, is distinctive to those who've employed them routinely.

I see exactly what you mean, and the exact same calibers/cartridges. This is much like the blue/gold dress picture. Differing interpretations of the fading sides give the different calibers almost perfectly.

Picture's kinda fuzzy but my initial impression leaves me thinking 22LR. Appearance of the exposed cartridge looks too short for a WMR cartridge (Winchester Magnum Rimfire) which is clearly longer @ 1.35" OAL than a 22LR @ 1.0" OAL.

And where's the suppressor that got mentioned in the reports I've read?

Nevertheless, this does not explain how a destitute young Mangione could find a billionaire CEO's whereabouts so easily. Additionally, why did Thompson lack any bodyguards?

Maybe this could solve the mystery:

We are now learning some intriguing facts about Mangioni. "Mangione comes from a prominent Baltimore family, which ironically was very philanthropic in the health care system. He was also Ivy League educated and likely had a net worth greater than Mr. Thompson." Here's a video by a prominent 3D firearms printing YouTube creator confirming the type of pistol used.

The pistol is a Chairman Won v1 3rd generation glock clone. Hope this helps.

Good video--I didn't know anything about printed "guns" (I use the quote marks because the barrel and slide are not printed). Note too how much nicer the gun in the video looks compared to Mangione's. But I'd guess that wearing the Youtuber's balaclava and goggles at McDonalds would also get some unwanted attention!

Pretty hard to write a word on a 22 cal brass casing.

Just sayin.

This story seems inauthentic. Naturally, it gives the Fake News media something to cover.

When they have a "Manifesto", it's sure to be fake as a $4 Bill. Now, look back at all the other fake Manifesto's. This one was used to demonize RFK and Joe Rogan. Go figure.

Can you comment on the "Ghost Gun accusation? I am a gun person and I am uncertain what this means. Criminals used to grind off serial numbers to make guns untraceable. Is this a ghost gun? What about the computer printed hand guns? As I understand it a gun can be assembled this way but it takes a lot of skill and experience to actually make a complete weapon. The media like to use the term ghost gun because it seems scary and sensationalizes.

What a novel ideal, that a media voice can be diligently self correcting in the pursuit of truth and integrity. I suggest that prerequisite to earning the right to write, that every aspiring reporter be required to complete either the Cub Scout or Brownie curriculum prior to being cut loose with a pen.

What a difference from the Swiss-made B&T Station Six. The pistol pictured makes a Glock look like a hand-polished Swiss masterpiece. But the somewhat quieter Station Six, one quick shot to the back of the head in the hands of someone doing the job for money, with no chance for the victim to scream or fight back, or even the slight chance of a Daniel Penny-type intervention, wouldn't have made much difference given the shooter's need for multiple shots and seemingly political motivation to interrupt those shots to jack unfired rounds to the pavement. By comparison, a video put out by a firm that sells B&Ts shows the shooter not even breaking stride as he puts a contact shot into the "head" of a cardboard target and walks on by. You to have admit, if this was a pro imitating an amateur, he did a professional job of it.
