When 2019-2024 hit me like a brick up side the head! I have always considered myself a Democrat- the good guys- the ones for choice, freedom, the common sensers! Then I realized probably before this but in my defense as a teacher I could defend myself- not realizing what was happening in other classrooms or how much the young and apprehensive teachers were soaking in. The faculty meetings were rough the older teachers called them indoctrination meetings! At this point my democratic identity was stripped ripped off like a band aid! I was beside myself- super depressed and very cautious of those I worked with. These people flipped into the gestapo- the jabs the masks the testing! It was insane- to the point where a teacher actually said out loud - we should line up all the unvaccinated and shoot them! So the identity politics is real- how did the spell get broken for me and a few others? But not the majority. And so I have yet to find a group to identify with- mourn the loss and feel the shame of not noticing it sooner.

I'm with you. I'm from a family of teachers, raised left wing (obvs), and teacher siblings are still fully on-board. I moved further left to the Greens for clean environment, clean non-GM food, but left them in 2016 with the gay marriage, deciding marriage was a heterosexual sacrament.

I have no political home, but my voting is now more with the independent salt of the earth people. The left is completely captured - they are certainly totalitarian. The Greens fought GM food, but then heavily pushed direct GM vaccinations.

I'm from Australia, with preferential voting, and I have the weirdest voting patterns..

PS. If you're still teaching, keep speaking, if you can.

Oh Cheryl I indentify SO STRONGLY with this. Starting in 2018 when NY passed some draconian laws relating to bodily autonomy (Dems only believe in bodily autonomy in SOME areas), I felt completely lost, stripped of my lifelong D affiliation. Many of my friends and family got more and more sucked into the D messaging as I moved further away from it (in my head), and I felt completely unmoored, without a community. I no longer have a political 'identity' the way I used to, and everyone strongly assumes I completely align with D on everything because until 2018 I did, unflinchingly, even though in the back of my mind some things were maybe starting to make a little less sense to me, but I couldn't admit it to myself. It's still a really challenging place for me to be and I can only tell some people I know how I really feel.

Please speak, if you can. I'd think that underneath, every genuine D voter would be sus about Biden. They're probably only talking big for D to bolster themselves against their cognitive dissonance.

The role of identity in human affairs is a foundational tenet of eugenics. It is a belief that bloodlines determine status in life. Even by simply choosing which parts of one's bloodline to identify as. Like Kamala Harris identifying as her black bloodline, not her Asian bloodline. And even within her black bloodline she identifies with the bloodline of black slaves who were traded. Even though her bloodline is of black slave traders.

Thing is, identity and eugenics are both pseudosciences, useful and disposable in any given moment. Her slave trader black bloodline and Indian high caste bloodlines entitle her to trade slaves and rule the Untouchables (Deplorables) under eugenics theory. With her ability to simultaneously identify with slaves and untouchables to attain power with the consent of the governed.

A pretty amazing trick if you can pull it off. All the easier when your backers control the media. Pseudosciences are pseudoscience for a reason: they are devices of narratives cloaked in the language of science. Like masks, vaccines, climate change and gender. Identity is a narrative. That true believers cling to like religion. While the high priests amend and discard tenets central to an identity as needed to attain/retain power in any given moment.

It appears to me that all political figureheads are always thinking of changing the world. But I doubt that a single one of them ever stops to think of changing themselves.

Let's face it. Some are just insecure and need to "belong". I have sub-stackers and doctors and other professionals I really admire and agree with - most of the time. Certainly not every time. Critical thinking and discernment seem to have left the building for a lot of folks these days.

Well,as I am not an evolutionary believer and think evolution is wrong, the repeated references to millions of years and hundreds of thousands of years, I think this kind of manipulation only goes so far. We are created in the image of God, male and female and have eternity in our hearts so if you only exist and think in the here and now then all that psychobabble makes sense. To think we can all be manipulated to do heinous acts is arrogant to say the least.

Which leads me to an aside- that’s a wicked nation that manipulates regime changes around the world. Who do you think you are?

Reaping and sowing comes to mind. We get the government we deserve.

But fossil fuels have taken millions of years to get deposited. All that coal and oil we use didnt develop in the last 10,000 years.

Sorry we have to agree to differ.

At least we can agree that XX are female and XY are males. Do Creationists believe that the Earth was created with coal and oil deposits already in place ?

Very interesting video. Would also explain how covert operations are strategized, planned, and executed by intelligence agencies. Novelty=focus; authority; tribe; feeling apart of the tribe. Describes the very essence of the military-industrial-censorship complex. The mind set also describes how to reprogram peoples' natural hesitancies. Today, I ran into this article. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/children-of-gaza/ "Children of Gaza." How does a country get their snipers to shoot into children's heads? I support neither side in this conflict only the civilians, whether Israeli or Palestinian, who are caught in this snare. Seems to me a pathological use of identity has been instilled within various Israeli military tribes.

"Some medical professionals who spoke to 'Sunday Morning' requested their identities be kept private, as some plan to return again to Gaza. A Virginia-based doctor told us, 'We all see gunshots in the U.S., but we have never seen anything like the gunshots to kids in Gaza.' Another Virginia-based anesthesiologist told CBS News that, over his two weeks in Gaza, he saw single gunshot wounds to kids on a daily basis (he guessed at least 30 total).

One Chicago-based doctor told us, 'I thought these kids were in the wrong place at the wrong time, like sadly, some of the kids we treat in Chicago. But after the third or fourth time, I realized it was intentional; bullets were being put in these kids on purpose.'"

Thank you for that beautiful comment. Is it not shocking how many American citizens support a democidal foreign government, often vehemently, support sending billions to an Israeli regime that funds the slaughter of 180,000 plus Palestinians—babies, children, elderly, families? They cannot, choose not to see the insanity of it all.

I believe most of those supporters do not have a clear identity of their own. It is formed piecemeal through MSM, propaganda, familial acculturation, and through our American negative shadow/psyche, societal narrative, which had been taught and reinforced.

Perhaps the supporters' real purpose is to build a clear identity. They're souls who are learning. Nothing builds clear identity like horrible times of great injustice, violence, and despair. Many religions suggest that souls view their earthly lives in one way or another. I think some will have some genuine sorrows.

I saw the use of identify after the shooting. I was pretty shocked by it.

Bill Maher - US talk show guy - funny. Hope I've got the name right.

He introduced the shooting to his liberal studio audience in a way that some immediately began to laugh.

And then he rapidly said (paraphrasing) "liberals don't like people being shot".

And the audience rapidly listened to the instructions for what they like to do, and how to behave, as a liberal.

I was a bit shocked that grown adults didn't have their own minds in place to know what they liked or not, what they thought was funny, or not.

It was like studio audience obedience training, reminding people of "who we are".

Great observation John and so true.I have ofyen repeated the observation that ‘politics is team sport’. More precisely stated it is Identity Sport. People wear the invisible jersey of their identity.Taking that jersey off is a terrifying existential act for most people. This is where the importance of independent thinking, of learning how to think independently, becomes so crucial. It is perhaps the one antidote to becoming an automaton for someone else’s ideology, to forming an identity that is not truly your own, which, after all, will always be unique

I guess we all need a group to identify with, as it's sorta an evolutionary survival mechanism

just a shame that this primal drive has been manipulated and weaponized!

People take their opinions, beliefs, religions, everything practically as part of their identity. But those things are not our true identity. So many personal conflicts and wars result from wrong identification.

Many of the people who took a stand over these last four years are people of faith, that identity, or people who don't care what mistakes they make in the process of getting to the bottom of things, as the truth matters most, or people whose sense of self is utterly linked to deontological principles, like if they come for the Jews again (laying aside all isues of Israel/Hamas/Netanyahu/Palestine), if they come for the Jews, or persecute any group of people, one stands up, as a central tenet of identity. The latter is cynically manipulated by psyops these days, but all of those are identities that are not especially political.

My father was a foreign service officer and, as a family, we got wrenched out of one reality and catapulted in to another one about every two to four years. When we lived in Brussels, I went to The International School where I was a wall flower and a nerdy outcast. At the Military Advisory and Assistance Group "teen dances" on Saturdays, nobody would dance with me.

Then we got 'home leave" and were three months at my grandparents in Shepherdstown, W. Virginia. I went to the local high school where I was top of the class, admired by everyone, had a boyfriend (!) and they gave me a surprise going away party when I left. I thought this was the new me! But back in Brussels once again, I was right back to being a nerdy outcast.

This was wonderful training for becoming a Bhuddist, with its concept of "anatta," or non-self. The self is a construct with no actual reality to it. It is like a constellation in the night sky that looks like the big dipper, for instance, but is really made up of starts light years away from each other and which because of the distances and the speed of light, may not even exist anymore.
