If you do your job well, you must be qualified to practice in a different area of law and remove yourself from the defense of groomers and sex offenders, showing moral strength in respect to the victims.

If you want to protect teens and younger kids: Go to the Child Lures Prevention website. This organization has excellent programs that can be used by schools, churches, youth groups, etc. to (1) alert kids to the "lures" that perpetrators use and (2) teach kids how to resist and get help. Parents can also order some of the materials for use at home.
I suggest reading the parents' booklet when your child is two; it will help you protect your child at all ages. I used the children's workbook with my child at age 9 or 10. There's also a booklet about/for teens. If you order these materials in bulk (the required number when I did this was low - not more than 15, may have been just 10 or 12), you can get the parent, child, and teen booklets and hand out sets at very low cost. (When I did this for my homeschooling support group some years ago, the cost was about $5 per set.)
The Child Lures Prevention materials have been carefully designed to educate kids without frightening them.
If you can't get your school, your church, etc. to use the Child Lures Prevention program, consider bulk-ordering the materials and handing out sets to parents you know.

I think you are unfair to Rolling Stone. The experts behind their criticism did not disclaim the problem, they criticized its portrayal in the film. As they wrote, the portrayal of strangers stealing kids is not what is most common. Most of the kids know and trust their traffickers. That fact shifts the method of coping with it from policing to society. The films focus leads to more policing when parental drug addiction and selling their kids for a fix, a common beginning of trafficking, needs social attention not policing.

Maybe, but you are charged with doing JUSTICE. So, if your client is guilty of this crime, you must not ethically ignore that.

I think you are unfair to Rolling Stone. The experts behind their criticism did not disclaim the problem, they criticized its portrayal in the film. As they wrote, the portrayal of strangers stealing kids is not what is most common. Most of the kids know and trust their traffickers. That fact shifts the method of coping with it from policing to society. The films focus leads to more policing when parental drug addiction and selling their kids for a fix, a common beginning of trafficking, needs social attention not policing.
