it's not surprising that Americans don't trust MSM. What IS surprising is that there are still MILLIONS who continue watching MSM and believing everything they say!!!

I can count at least a dozen lies about important issues that mainstream media has lied about in my lifetime:

JFK murder

RFK murder

MLK murder

Gulf of Tonkin

9-11

WMD's in Iraq

Syrian gas attacks

multiple lies for 4 years about Russiagate

multiple lies for 3 years about covid

multiple lies about Ukraine

What's astonishing to me is that after all these lies people still watch mainstream media and believe that this time they are telling the truth!

If you had a friend who lied to you as many times as mainstream media has lied to you, would you think, oh this time he's telling the truth? Would you even still be friends with him?

How about lies on January 6? You know the event that was compared to Pearl Harbor?

Yet if you read even a few of the comments under Bezos' piece, it's clear many WP readers are dumb enough to think (1) that the WP journalists are objective, or (2) there's no such thing as "real reality," so why pretend there is?

You covered it under "Ukraine," but I'd list "Russia blew up the Nord Stream pipeline," our modern day Gulf of Tonkin, separately. And it isn't just the WP. In an editorial today concerning Volkswagen's disastrous financial condition, some idiot at the Wall Street Journal wrote: "Natural-gas prices have been on a rollercoaster since Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine disrupted gas supplies. VW is the latest of many companies to scale back production in Germany to escape these costs." That's two lies for the price of one: not only did the Russians blow up their own pipeline, but rollercoasters don't return to their starting position but always end higher.

Bezos is doing this as a business decision. First, understand that WAPO is connected with the CIA. Second, Bezos not only knows that MSM is losing credibility but also losing money. He sees the power brokers aligned with Trump: Ellison (Oracle), Theil (Palantir), Musk, etc. While he is not ‘joining’ them, he is ensuring that he is not on the opposing team. The 200,000 subscribers that left WAPO consist of about $20 million in subscriptions. Chump change. There are trillions at stake here.

Remember, he's a young global leader...it's less about business, and primarily for Control.

Expand full comment

I'm not sure to what degree it's business, and what degree control. Both are involved. They don't get more control by furthering squandering credibility, so it's the proverbial limited hangout. It might be good for business. Or it might be bad. To this point, like most, he's aligned with the left and it's worked just peachy. Trump was a blip last time, none of them jumped ship, and they continued to prosper. One thing for sure, he hasn't found his conscience and decided to do "what's right and good". Anyone who believes that is as naive as the dullest leftist minion.

The "business" end won't matter if all products are produced (and poisoned) by them, we are almost there. Slip in programmable CBDC's and the control grid is complete.

Excellent points, and to CB’s point above about the Golf of Tonkin “Affair”:

John is a good liberal but a liberal just the same in that he loves his namesake liberty, he just doesn’t like sticking his neck out for principled conservatives who realize that yes, liberty in inalienable, but unless citizens remain vigilant at home, seriously invested in their choices of non liars as Representatives, war may be the only option, and he ain’t doin that, but deny’s then that that lack of diligent Congressional oversight is what causes wars.

John was perhaps born in the ‘70’s after Nam, so it does not surprise me that he thinks all conservatives are neocons. The Marxist professors in academia did a great job of using dopey media to slander the military in the ‘60’s because of the Tonkin debacle, but it was unelected Democrat Johnson’s reelection campaign that used it to ramp up the war to 500K boots to assure reelection when the actual military commanders warned that Nam would be a logistical nightmare and bloodbath. Then Johnson quit on America and the troops, and from there the war went sideways for six more years. The venture by both the initial anti war movement who protested the lack of oversight by a Congress in disarray post assassinations, and those who saw China driving the North Communists factions of Vietnam down into the South by atrocities on civilians with Russian logistics and armament were hijacked by hate America infiltration and those in academia already in the woodwork and a confused America was divided to this day. Simultaneously, the Civil Rights movement were also hijacked by Communist instigators of these tumultuous years. In the end America was demoralized by the inversion of protestors slandering of America and anyone in uniform services to her, cops, mailman, military, you name it they were attacked by the Marxists of academia and Communisms who were then emboldened as American replacement troops and those in the war were severely demoralized before ever going abroad, the war was extended by years killing millions more including Cambodia, (killing fields) and the Communists slaughtered their own countrymen and women (boat people), as America abandoned them at the behest of a young Joe Biden seizing the political wins that the Clintons, Kerry’s, Faucies, Gates, Fonda ilk all made names for themselves in academia as America haters. Perhaps worst of all over six decades the military became an even more top heavy with self serving Generals in suits, smaller wars and the hate America homegrown liberals continued to parrot that it was all the fault of the “military industrial complex” that Eisenhower warned about, but in full context his speech was about the danger of collaboration between government and corporate America including academia and media capture.

Today the same people that slandered America, vowed to march through the institutions, made Marxism popular on campus, and went out of their way to slander their own weary war veterans. They are today at the helm of all thing government, and corporate academia, media, medicine, and finance. Three decades ago they made their old friends China and Vietnam “besties” as their offspring have gone global as WEF/WHO stake holders. They hate America’s “stupid and deplorable” middle class $0 - $400K annually, except to taxing into oblivion, and intend to do so via vaccines. Covid was just the beginning, as they successfully slandered the military into wokeness. The 1st Amendment is nearly caput, and they will not stop until they crush the 2nd and every male is emasculated.

Come on John! This is classic "checking which way the wind is blowing". Bezos hears the Trump train coming and doesn't want be on the tracks when it gets here. Do you think he would be doing this if he thought the status quo was going to continue in DC? Strictly a business decision.......MONEY!!!

When the mainstream media and the ruling class decide to pick on a critical issue, it is usually for two reasons: first, the issue is serious enough and is affecting their interests, and therefore the narrative must be controlled to ensure that the results are in their favor. Second, in doing the former, the ruling class gets to strictly filter and manage the narrative on what needs to be said about any given topic; which ‘experts’ are given the stage to speak; and whose voices are excluded from debates, or even defamed and slandered, if necessary.

That's why I enjoy wearing this "Don't let mass media tell you what to think" shirt in front of sheeps 👇

One of the few who stuck to his guns & suffered the consequences was Bob Moran, a gifted and satirical cartoonist sacked by the Daily Telegraph for not toeing the line. His observations on the MSM are here https://www.ukcolumn.org/video/drawing-on-experience-with-bob-moran

I really do not give a shit WHAT that PIECE OF EVIL SHIT, Jeff BOZO, has to say about ANYTHING! (even if he IS correct); DON'T CARE!

Exactly. People like Bezos say what they think will work for them. Period. How is that not obvious to those of normal intelligence?

But admissions against interest are valuable. If Fauci held a press conference to confess that he financed the Wuhan virus and injections at the behest of Bill Gates and the WEF/WHO to further depopulation while engorging Big Pharma profits, it wouldn't be news to us, and we wouldn't think more of that sad sack of Pfeces, but it would be something to celebrate: a major crack in the globalist facade.

THEE ONLY things that I want to hear, out of the mouths of these demons......

IS A CONFESSION TO EVERY CRIME THAT THEY HAVE COMMITTED.

Only THAT would be a reason to 'celebrate'; anything less.....they need to just STFU!

Oh, and 'CV19' was NOT a 'virus'; and it did NOT COME FROM Wuhan.

There is NO SUCH THING as a 'virus'.

And the 'CV19' BIO-WEAPON was BORN (aka CREATED) at Chapel Hill, in North Carolina.

Dr. David E. Martin HAS BEEN all over this, since the 'CV19' PsyOp started. He came 'With Receipts'! On Day 1 of the PsyOp......I KNEW that it was all BULLSHIT! On Day 2.....I found Dr. Martin, who CONFIRMED what I already knew. *I* found Dr. Martin ON DAY TWO.......WHY COULDN'T ANYONE ELSE?????????

That is the ONE question that has me speechless!

Agree about Dr. Martin and Chapel Hill (Ralph Baric), though the patent trail Martin revealed is about viruses, as far as I know. I'm not celebrating Bezos--he still claims we're the disinformationists--just his partial hangout. But saying "reality is always the winner" is the kiss of death to leftists and globalists.

I read Bezos piece and even he is clueless as to the root cause. Its very simple, They are liars and the masses no longer believe their lies no matter how often or how loud they proclaim them. Substack and Podcasts is where you will find the truth.

Expand full comment

I disagree he's clueless. He's in John's category #1 and knows exactly what's going on. It's possibly an attempt to maintain some credibility beyond the most brain dead. And maybe a business decision, not for the Post, but for his related holdings. I don't know his motivations for sure, but I'm pretty sure he's nowhere close to clueless.

I was giving him the benefit of doubt if your correct then he is nothing but pure evil. Evil needs to be exterminated wherever you find it.

According to news reports (do I trust them?) Bezos was motivated by fear that government contracts with his company would be in danger if he endorsed. Was his decision based on his personal interests? Not that I trust WaPo to be anything other than a CIA Mockingbird agency.

Expand full comment

Different take. I see Besos laying groundwork for further censorship. He’s not saying that he’s going to affect change at the WaPo. He is simply saying that podcasts and alternative media have set the stage for his particular brand of bias to be exposed. It seems that he believes a solution is to tamp down the alternative news routes.

I don’t think this is the win people are thinking it is.

Expand full comment

The truth is Jeff Bezos is worried about his contracts with the CIA. He doesn't want Trump messing it up. Remember, Bezos made a fortune during covid. He's not interested in the truth, he wants to control the narrative.

Countries that used ivermectin had fewer C19 deaths than the US, Canada, Portugal or any other country than relied on the jab vs early treatment. Also when C19's biggest co morbidities, were being overweight and having diabetes I doubt you can find any WaPo article that says exercise more and eat better.

Instead eat from the drive through and stay home to get obese. This they will call "science". I call it marketing and evil.

Mr. Leake - you are being naive about Mr. Bezos. With respect, it’s disappointing to see you so easily bamboozled. Think it through.

Bezos has a long, long way to go to win back a shred of trust and confidence for the WaPo. He hired a new editor, but the ship is still taking on water fast. The iceberg ahead is the election. Firing 80% Elon-style would have shown he is serious. We’ll see If this is a charade soon enough.

A long way to go? Anyone who ever, under any circumstances, would trust Bezos to do anything but what works for Bezos is hopelessly naive. Of course it's a charade. Which doesn't mean it's unwelcome.

So we agree. He’s got a long, long way to go until actions and results support these words.

Expand full comment

We are very close to agreeing, one minor difference. Those like Bezos are like the leopard, who can't change his spots. For me, Bezos can never get there. If he appears to, it will be a self-serving charade. Irredeemable. We can't read minds, so if he ever appears to have changed, we can't know who's right. Doesn't matter, so heck yes, we agree. I admit to being literal-minded to a fault.

Yeah, I can’t read minds either. But actions are easy to observe. I don’t follow Bezos much. I doubt Bill Gates will ever change, or is capable of change, but keep hope alive, as Jesse Jackson once said.

Too little too late to save Bezos. He may as well just continue his usual activities in complete disregard of the constitution because nothing he does will change his fate. He has sat back for a year whilst a genocide went on under his nose and he refused to have his paper say anything about it. He chose to side with the synagogue of satan which is the only reason his businesses were permitted to prosper and the incorruptable court decided his guilt, ..... and his sentence ....... a long long time ago. Musk is another one that backs the synagogue of satan by providing real honest to goodness Nazis in Kiev controlled from DC with free Starlink terminals to help murder innocent civilians with, he gave them knowing full well what they were going to use them for. The whole stinking house of cards is collapsing on all of them like a child trapped and dying under a bombed building in Gaza in agony just waiting to die. These people are scum.
