It's shameful that our "health system" does not promote prevention strategies, in fact they can be accused of suppressing them. As a frequent flyer I discover a nasal spray in the UK 25 years ago that I applied prior to boarding flights. It was a lifesaver because I would always catch something on a plane. I still had some at the start of covid but it ran out. So I went hunting for a replacement. I found it at a small chain of drugstores. A company called Betadine make nasal and throat sprays, and gargle. Vicks makes a nose spray. The problem is that nobody is aware of these, except those close to me, to whom I shove down their throats. I've now gone one step further, I inhale nebulized hydrogen peroxide. It's very effective , but is promoted by only a few doctors, for there are no studies on efficacy or side effects. I suspect that if this treatment was supported and promoted it would wipe out the whole cold medication industry,, which is why you don't know about it.

Well said. All one has to do to realize the reason why they work against prevention is to do a walk through any pharmacy's cold and flue isle. Talk about a huge business!

Can you share how you nebulize the peroxide? Do you put a few drops with a saline capsule? Thanks for sharing your other tips as well!

I picked up a Sonair rechargeable , handheld nebulizer. You put the peroxide in it.

ClorRelief Throat Spray with Chlorpheniramine, Throat Calm for Adults: 0.5% chlorpheniramine with xylitol made by Xlear on amazon. Looks like putting the tube up the nose and spray would work.

Do you have a link for that? I don’t see this on the Xlear website.

Well this again is a very good write-up as usual! I can say I have not had a common cold for 25 years, not even one! Saline is what I did everyday for those 25 years with NAC, Vitamin C, and 1400 mg of Curcumin Extract (with Pepper enhancement). My experience says NAC is a main reason because it protects the throat against the CC invasion, along with hepa-filtered fresh, mountain air 24/7. I once had sore throats almost daily for 15 years, no doubt caused by the Autism given to me by the forced, liquid polio vax in grade four. I thus never did another vax again since then 62 years ago, and will never do one again unless forced by the useless, lying Nazi gov.

salt & baking soda in the netty pot before bed EVERY night & even with a bad immune system I don't get colds or flu. (On a trip I took a nasal bulb with me and ended up with a bad cold in 2019--had my return flight not been cancelled, twice, I would have had to buy another ticket--lesson learned)

Good idea, in theory. And there are some studies to support this. But, definitely, not a magic bullet.

Love AI: Gustavo Ferrer Nasal Spray

Based on the provided search results, Gustavo Ferrer is a pulmonologist and inventor who has developed a nasal spray pump for the treatment of respiratory ailments. Specifically, he has invented a more effective nasal spray pump that uses xylitol-based ingredients and has been tested in animal and human studies.

According to the search results, Dr. Ferrer’s nasal spray pump is designed to target the nasopharynx, which is key to success in preventing and treating viral upper respiratory tract infections. The pump is formulated with sugar alcohols, including mannitol, xylitol, and sorbitol, which may help prevent rhinitis medicamentosa, a common side effect of nasal corticosteroids.

Additionally, Dr. Ferrer’s company, Dr. Ferrer BioPharma, has developed two new game-changing nasal sprays, ClorNasal and ClorNovir, which were named finalists in the 2021 CPhI Awards in the categories of Finished Formulation and Innovation in Response to COVID-19. ClorNasal is a nasal spray therapy system that solves problems commonly encountered by other therapies for allergic rhinitis, including poor drug distribution in the nasal cavity and incorrect application instructions.

Dr. Ferrer’s nasal spray pump technology has also been featured in an interview, where he discussed his research on intranasal chlorpheniramine and its potential to prevent long COVID progression and reduce symptom severity.

It’s worth noting that Dr. Ferrer’s nasal spray pump is not the same as Astepro Allergy Nasal Antihistamine Spray, which is a commercially available product with a different formulation and mechanism of action.

Overall, Gustavo Ferrer’s nasal spray pump is an innovative device designed to effectively treat respiratory ailments, with a focus on targeting the nasopharynx and using xylitol-based ingredients.

LOL….I’m sure this doctor is talking about Dymista, a nasal steroid/antihistamine spray (that was prescribed to me by my doctor) that was such a horrible tasting thing that I couldn’t take it.

You need to first talk about the ZEROTH treatment for colds and other nasal entry infections! I have not had any such for many years because I eat an enormous quantity and variety of fruits and veggies daily, and also take over 100 supplement pills and powders daily to increase my dosages of many of the most important chemicals contained in those foods.

Prevention should always be advised first before emergency treatment is taken for those unaware people who do not yet have sufficient knowledge of prevention!
