Public Health Concerns from the "Border Crisis"

Unchecked Flow of Illegal Aliens Into the US--Should We Worry about Communicable Diseases?
60

By Peter A. McCullough, MD, MPH

Over the past three years, the estimated number of encounters with people who have come to our Southern border is between 7-8 million. FOX News has reported that number is 7.2 million which is more than the individual populations of 36 states. We are shown pictures of large numbers of mainly middle aged people in clean clothes, but oddly with few belongings in small shopping bags filing across in a relatively orderly fashion. Texas Senator John Cornyn has this on his website:

“Since President Biden took office, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has logged more than 5.4 million illegal border crossings, plus at least 1.5 million “gotaways” – that is, border crossers who were detected by CBP technology (identity verification via facial biometrics), but who were never apprehended.”

From the border, the storyline is very unclear what happens next. Sporadically we will hear about buses or planes and a few thousand here or there, but there has been no solid, consistent embedded reporting on the fate of such a large number of individuals. I was asked recently on Real America’s Voice by Steve Gruber about communicable diseases among the immigrants. I told him pulmonary tuberculosis would be at the top of the list, that is, if you could find the migrants beyond the border to examine!
